The Delaware computer repairman who made public the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop said his home was “hit” Friday night.
“My house was hit tonight, I wasn’t home but the excellent men and women of Wilmington PD responded quickly and professionally,” John Paul Mac Isaac posted to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, on Dec. 29. ” All that accomplished was Wilmington PD’s wasted time. NOTHING, let me repeat that, NOTHING is going to get me out of this fight! Cheers!”
Swatting is the act of making a false report to emergency services to request a response at a specific address.
The goal is to get the authorities, especially the SWAT team, to show up.
The Wilmington Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for information about the beating call at Mac Isaac’s home.
Hundreds of scams occur every year, with some using caller ID spoofing to disguise their numbers.
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows have been among the recent victims, state AP.

The FBI said earlier this year that it had created a national database along with other law enforcement agencies to track beating incidents across the country.
Police have for months reported a huge spike in false claims of active shooters at schools and colleges.
There have also been reports of hundreds of incidents of beatings and bomb threats against synagogues and other Jewish institutions since the Israel-Hamas war began.
Suspects in the beating cases are being arrested and charged as states consider harsher sentences.

Mac Isaac filed a defamation suit against Biden in October 2022.
Biden filed a counterclaim in March, alleging Mac Isaac illegally distributed Biden’s personal data and accusing him of six counts of invasion of privacy.
Mac Isaac alleges that a man who Biden believed dropped off three laptops at his store in 2019, and did not return the laptops within 90 days, causing the laptops to be abandoned per store policy.
Mac Isaac was unable to contact the customer and said he first searched for emails by keyword in June or July 2019.
