First son Hunter Biden is often seen accompanying his commander-in-chief dad — but unlike other family members like first brother Frank Biden, Hunter has never been listed in the White House or Marine One visitor logs, The Post has learned.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said last week that recording the first son’s name or the names of other Biden family members in the Marine One logbook was “something we have never done.”
“This is family. The family has to travel with the president, and that happens with every other president, so it’s not something we’ve done or we’re going to do moving forward,” he told reporters.
In May 2021, a White House policy announcement promised to “not release access records related to personal guests of the First and Second Families (ie, visits not involving any official or political business).”

But the policy appears to have been adhered to by Biden’s own staff after the president vowed to lead the “most transparent” administration in US history.
On April 26, Frank Biden was placed on the published guest list and recorded in the visitor log for a state dinner at the White House with the president, first lady Jill Biden and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, Kim Keon Hee.
A month later, Hunter Biden appeared on the published guest list for a state dinner at the White House with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi — but was not placed in the executive mansion’s visitor log for the same date, June 22.

It is unclear why or whether the nature of Frank’s visit was considered “official or political” while Hunter was a “purely personal” guest.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Biden, 81, reportedly warned his brother Frank to “for Christ’s sake, watch yourself” about using the family name for business purposes during the 2020 presidential campaign, but has repeatedly said he is not involved in his son’s business dealings.

Devon Archer, Hunter’s former business partner, testified to Congress earlier this year that Joe Biden met, had dinner and spoke on the phone with his son’s foreign associates during and after his time as vice president.
Several associates were also recorded in the vice president’s visitor log at the time, but the first son was not listed in the visitor log for the duration of the Biden presidency
The first son also appeared at the White House twice for the annual Easter Egg Roll, made two weekend visits to Camp David, a 4th of July celebration with fireworks, a Medal Of Freedom ceremony, a Christmas tree lighting and his daughter Naomi’s wedding on the South Field.
Hunter was not among the Biden family passengers who flew home from Delaware aboard Marine One after celebrating the 51st anniversary of the car crash that killed the president’s wife and daughter. Reuters
This year, the Independence Day visit came after Hunter stayed at the executive mansion for at least two weeks before the June 20 announcement of his plea deal on the tax and gun charges, the Washington Post previously reported.
Last week, Jean-Pierre said the president was “familiar” with his son’s plan to avoid a December 13 subpoena from the House Oversight Committee for a closed deposition on his business affairs.
Hunter was also not on the list of passengers for the Biden family flying home from Delaware on Marine One Tuesday after celebrating the 51st anniversary of the car crash that killed the president’s wife and daughter.
