His elaborate marriage proposal lacked a ring the truth – especially when his mistress bothers him.
Tiffany Lyn’s stomach fluttered with butterflies as she held her boyfriend CJ’s phone in her hand.
The smitten New Yorker was filming her beau as she volunteered to take part in “Fear Factor Live” — a competition where daredevils test their mettle — in front of a live audience at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla. , in July 2013.
In the middle of the show, he openly asked Lyn: “Will you marry me?”
But her excitement turned to devastation when a text message suddenly appeared on CJ’s phone, reading: “Alright, go ahead and marry her. He’s a safe bet for you,” followed by a less-than-flattering critique of his latest sexual performance.
Lyn eventually learns that the author of the shady dispatch is a woman CJ secretly slept with during their two-year romance.
“The best moment of my life turned into the worst moment of my life,” Lyn, now 42, a digital marketer in the inner city told The Post.
“It took me 10 years and about $10,000 in therapy to finally be able to talk about it,” Lyn told The Post. “I’m telling my story now because I want to help others who may find themselves in the same situation.”
Unfortunately, Manhattanite’s sad findings are not uncommon.

“I was just smiling,” Lyn told The Post, noting that no one in the audience at the theme park knew she was the object of the oaf’s show.
“I’m very good at covering up my trauma without making a scene,” said admits, “so I didn’t say anything.”

Instead of exploding at the cheating Prince Charming, Lyn accepts her diamond engagement ring — a two-carat round-cut solitaire — and calmly deals with his infidelity.
Without hesitation, a contrite-looking CJ confesses his sin and begs for forgiveness, which Lyn initially grants because of her undying love for him.
But after two months of trying to make it work, the troubled duo called it quits.
“I can only get that trust back,” he said. “Every time I see the ring on my hand, it feels defiled.”
Lyn returns the stone and permanently ends the relationship with CJ. She did however learn that the cheater had suffered through a series of failed relationships, including divorce, since their breakup.
“She’s a certified narcissist,” says Lyn, “I wish other women protected themselves from freckles like her.
