A German resident who recently came across a 2-year-old lottery ticket while cleaning his house for Christmas was surprised to find he won about $110,000, according to local media reports.
The unidentified Magdeburg woman had played Lotterie Super 6 in February 2021 — she reportedly put the ticket in a desk drawer and forgot about it.
He had spent about $44 playing the same six digits for four weeks.
“I can’t believe it. It’s like rediscovering a forgotten treasure,” said the winner, revealing that a vacation is on her to-do list.

Lottery officials reported that the ticket was in pristine condition when they received it.
The 2021 winnings amount to more than $660,000 unclaimed in Saxony-Anhalt, officials said.
In the German state, prizes from 2021 can be claimed until December 31, 2024.
“This is the only six-figure winning total that is currently open for such a long period of time,” Lotto-Toto Sachsen-Anhalt director Stefan Ebert explained to Der Spiegel.
