IDF releases audio of Hamas terrorists admitting they fired at Gaza hospital

The Israel Defense Forces released an audio recording Wednesday morning of what two Islamic Jihad terrorists said were responsible for the bombing of a Gaza City hospital a day earlier that killed hundreds of people.

The clip, posted on X, was captioned “Islamic Jihad attacked Hospital in Gaza—IDF didn’t. Listen to the terrorists because they realize this themselves.”

It was issued as Hamas and Israel blamed each other for the attack on Al Ahli Arab Hospital, which was filled with Palestinians injured in Israeli airstrikes and residents seeking shelter.

“Is it from us?” an operative is heard asking on the recording, according to an IDF translation.

“It looks like it,” replied his cohort.

Members of the so-called Islamic Jihad – an offshoot of the militant group that rules Hamas – were later heard admitting that the missile shrapnel “was local shrapnel, and not Israeli shrapnel,” from a rocket fired from a “cemetery behind the hospital.”

“But God bless, it can’t find another place to explode?” one of them asked.

Hamas leaders have blamed Israel and the US for the attack, while Israel has claimed that a failed Islamic Jihad rocket launch caused the destruction, as leaders say about 450 other rockets fired from Gaza have failed to reach Israel in the past week and a half.

As protesters blaming Israel took to the streets in Arab countries across the region, President Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv and said Israel was not to blame for the attack, citing “data shown by my Department of Defense . “

It also said the blast did not leave the crater, as a deliberate attack would have.
