Idina Menzel revealed in her new documentary that she tried and failed to have a second child with her second husband Aaron Lohr.

The Broadway actress expressed that at some point, she intends to have another child and this time with her second husband. She immediately opted for IVF to have a better chance because of her age. He knew the moment would be big for him, so he included it in a documentary that is now ready for release.
“No matter what the outcome, I just want women to feel seen in this film and for people to understand what we’re going through,” the 52-year-old said. Many people magazine. “It’s important to me to give up that privacy and let people enjoy a little bit of that experience.”
The documentary is titled; Idina Menzel: Which Way To Stage? is a personal journey for Menzel who has been in the business for over 20 years.

The actress shares a son with ex-husband Taye Diggs, 13-year-old Walker. But she felt at the time that it would be good for her and her Lohr to have a child together. The documentary follows Menzel as she goes to doctor appointments and has very real and vulnerable conversations.
In addition, she still works and is a mother to Walker. He described the time as a real “balancing act.”
“I was really going through things that I was shooting into my body, and I didn’t know how it was going to affect my voice,” she elaborated about doctor’s appointments on top of being a mom and working long hours.
“And it might force me to make an extra trip to see the doctor in addition to making the trip back to my family. And none of that is good for your body when you’re trying to have a baby,” was how she allowed it.

The actress shared that at first, Lohr did not want a child of her own and Menzel was content with the child. But Walker’s parenting intrigued Lohr and seeing him become a parent made Menzel happy, so they changed their minds.
“Maybe before meeting me, [Lohr] didn’t think he wanted to have kids, and then he saw how good a father he is, so I wanted that for him,” he admitted. “I didn’t think I wanted to have a baby, but Aaron has been the most amazing man to my son.”
The baby never came to fruition and while it was a difficult moment for the couple, she said they “moved beyond” that moment and on to something better.

The Disappointed the actress did not allow time to upset her for too long she focused on the fact that she had a child and had a great and easy pregnancy.
“I have this amazing son, and I’m lucky enough to have him,” she said. “And the pregnancy was pretty easy and I got pregnant easily, and there are a lot of people who don’t get it.”
Lohr also thanked Walker. Although she says she’s grateful that she put her body through it all, she’s not disappointed. “He sees Walker as his own son at this point,” he said. “I think we feel satisfied and lucky with what we have.”
