Iggy Azalea Confirms 8-Figure Deal From Sale Of Catalogs

Iggy Azalea is ready to rake in billions and isn’t worried about lifting a finger for a long time after signing a recent deal.

The star, who has sold millions of records worldwide as an artist since his debut, decided to take a more significant step in filling his bank account by selling his catalog of recordings and master publications for eight figures.

The rapper interacted with some of his fans on Twitter and answered questions from concerned users about the recent signing. “I just hope she doesn’t end up like Taylor (no shade at all, just using her as an example),” the person wrote in a letter to which the “Problem” hitmaker responded:

“Taylor did not profit from the sale. I sold part of my catalog to the people I wanted for an amount that meant I never had to work another day in my life.”

The “Work” artist stated that although he loves his fans very much, the conversation about ownership of “masters” is beyond the scope of their business understanding. That might be the case given the fact that, according to Billboard, he hasn’t actually sold his rights to the music.

It was reported that she changed the management and production side of some of her hits such as “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX),” “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” and “Problem (featuring Ariana Grande).”

The sprawling deal was handled by his manager Reece Pearson and his lawyer Peter Paterno and sold to Domain Capital. It includes one hundred percent of the 32-year-old’s existing catalog along with a failsafe for Azalea, which ensures she can earn more on master recordings in the future.

The three-time “Billboard Music Awards” winner’s extensive discography includes “Surviving the Summer (EP),” “The New Classic,” “In My Defense” and “The End of an Era.” Previously under the labels “Virgin EMI” and “Island Records,” he left after several disagreements and has since founded his own label “Bad Dreams.”

Azalea’s music was initially distributed by “Empire,” but the mother of one is currently closing a new deal with another company while keeping her publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing.

Despite selling parts of his old music, the fact that he owns his own label means that control and production of any new music released from the first quarter of next year is one hundred percent his.

Fans can expect to hear some new songs for the Australian, who is said to be working on a new album set for release next year.
