A 3-year-old Indiana boy is fighting for his life after suffering head injuries from his 12-year-old babysitter with “anger issues” who allegedly hit him and threw him against a wall, according to his family.
Noah Brown was sedated and on life support at Riley Children’s Hospital, where he had suffered multiple seizures following the Nov. 29 attack at his father’s home on South Lyons Avenue in Indianapolis, Fox 59 reported.
Noah’s mother, Michelle Lane, said in an online petition that the nanny was her ex-husband’s stepdaughter, who was supposed to be looking after the 3-year-old and his 5-year-old brother.
The babysitter, whose name has not been released, has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of serious bodily injury to a person under the age of 14 and possession of a personal weapon.

Noah was happy and full of life before the violent attack, his grandmother Candy King told McClatchy News.
“On the way, he loved everyone. He will brighten your day, that’s for sure,” he said.
“(The 12-year-old) had anger issues and Noah started crying,” King told the outlet. “(He) couldn’t hold it so he hit him with the belt and threw him towards the bed and his head hit the bed frame of the bunk bed.”

The babysitter then slammed Noah’s head against the wall and he collapsed under the bed after trying to escape, she said.
“He had to be put on life support and part of his skull was removed due to his severe injuries,” Noah’s mother, Michelle Lane, said in an online petition.
“The 12-year-old boy told his biological father that my son was ‘annoying’ while crying so he hit him with a belt, hit his head on the frame of a bunk bed and slammed him against a wall,” she wrote.
She said her son had had several seizures.

“He has a long road to recovery,” Lane told Fox 59. “It doesn’t guarantee his quality of life but we’re praying and hoping for the best for him to come out okay.”
To make matters worse, she said Noah is also battling COVID-19.
In his petition, Lane wrote that “there is no law regarding the age requirement for custody of minors in the state of Indiana.
“We believe there should be an age requirement of 16 to care for any child under the age of 6,” he wrote. “And the person who supervises and cares for the child does not have an uncontrolled mental health illness for the safety of the child under the guardian’s care and the guardian observing him/the child in their care.”
Meanwhile, King told McClatchy News that “the doctors are taking out the breathing tube and the neck brace to see if he can breathe on his own the rest of the way,” adding that “they’re stopping the sedation (because) they want him to fully wake up. .”
