Baby joy is in the air for Uzo Aduba and her family!
The pregnant actress celebrated her baby shower with husband Robert Sweeting, close friends and family — and the photos are too cute to handle. The “Orange Is the New Black” star, who prefers to keep her personal life private, revealed her marriage to the filmmaker in 2021, a year after their intimate wedding in New York.

The 42-year-old shared the joyous baby shower on Instagram, and she looked absolutely radiant. Amid the pastel decor of what looked like a backyard, the mother-to-be glowed in a pink dress, while Sweeting looked sharp in a white shirt and navy suit pants.
Their reception featured a two-tiered cake decorated with safari animals and a “Baby” sign as the perfect finishing touch. The following slide shows the couple posing in front of a cream-colored wall decorated with balloons and flowers. In the caption, “Mrs. American Actress” wrote:
“Our Baby Shower :). It’s an amazing feeling when our family organizes a baby shower for us, and spends fun time with our loved ones. Robert and I are getting more and more excited every day. To our friends and family- thank you for sharing in this journey with us and for making sure these babies know how much they are loved. We had fun!”

Explaining her choice of pink gown, the former Orange Is the New Black cast member assured fans that it was “imagining nothing.” She playfully added, “Honestly I love the color. ?? #babyshower.”
Many famous personalities flocked to the comment section to congratulate. Her former “OITNB” co-star, Jackie Cruz, wrote, “Aww congrats zozo, I love you.” Comedian Ilana Glazer stated, “You’re glowing and amazing, Uzo. Mazel and bless your beautiful family.”
One fan excitedly said, “Omg I’m so happy for this lady!! I’ve loved her since OITNB ♥️,” while another said, “So excited for you!”
Aduba showed off some of his gifts and expressed his gratitude to his Story, starting with a note that read, “And what’s a shower without saying thank you….!!” This was followed by a video showing what she got from baby brand Huggies and clothing brand tagged “@7amenfant.”
Aduba continues her gratitude parade with another video of herself and her beau looking at their baby shower cake. In the caption, she thanked her sister for “generously hosting everyone” and her mother-in-law for the cake.
Alongside footage of a table filled with delicious-looking treats, the “Solos” guest star thanked her brother, sister-in-law and cousin for “making this a beautiful day” and “a delicious extra sweet treat.”
In case you missed it, during the 2023 Tony Awards in June, the “Animal” voice actress announced her pregnancy. She was dressed in an orange three-piece ensemble, including a long-sleeved suit jacket, a halter-cut bra top and baggy pants.

On the red carpet, she opened her coat, offering a clearer view of her stomach. Gently cradling her bump, Aduba smiled as she posed for the paparazzi.
The Emmy Award winner also took to her Instagram page to share a short clip, slowly revealing herself holding a white shirt as the camera pans from bottom to top. With a big smile and perfect make-up, she exclaimed, “Ta-da!”

After revealing her pregnancy, the “Candy Jar” actress candidly shared her thoughts on parenthood aspirations during an appearance on Samantha Bee’s “Choice Words” podcast, produced by Lemonada Media.
In their conversation which focused on Aduba’s path to fame, he stated, “For me and what I want to teach this baby. I want my kids to know that their time here is meaningful, you know?”
Reflecting on her mother’s efforts to provide for their family and achieve the “American dream,” the “American Pastoral” actress stated, “My mother worked hard for me and my siblings and did a lot to make sure our lives were what she hoped for. The American dream to have. But he works a lot.”
He said, “I want, at the end of my story, everyone who knows me to say ‘he enjoyed his life.’ He’s having fun here.” The “Beats” star also shared his desire to convey the value of pursuing happiness and satisfaction to his son.
