Palestinian Islamic Jihad released a video of the two hostages on Thursday – an elderly woman and a 12-year-old boy – and offered to release the captives when “appropriate steps are met.”
In the heartbreaking clip, Hanna Katzir, 77, who is in a wheelchair, shares a message to her family.
“I miss my home, my children, my husband Rami, and all my beloved family. I’m sending you greetings, telling you I love you. I hope I will manage to see you next week,” he said in the video.
Yagil Yaakov, 12, said he misses his family and friends “like crazy,” adding, “I love you all.”
Katzir and Yaakov were both kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7.
A spokesman for the terror group said the two captives could be released once certain conditions were met to protect the people of the Gaza Strip, according to The Jerusalem Post.
“This initiative will come into effect as soon as appropriate measures are met, in terms of security and on the ground, which provide protection to the Palestinian people,” he said.

The two hostages then cursed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with Katzir saying: “I think the one responsible for this and for us fighting each other is Bibi Netanyahu. Because of him, our children were killed. He has made many mistakes and it has affected our society, and others.”
The young man repeated the same statement, telling the Prime Minister that “all these explosions are crazy.”
“You killed us as hostages. You do not return water, electricity or medicine. We as hostages also need this,” he said, according to the Jerusalem Post.
It is unclear whether they were reading from a script but Netanyahu has previously dismissed similar hostage videos as “brutal” propaganda.
A militant said in the video that Katzir was released because they could not “give him any medical treatment due to lack of medicine and fuel and electricity.”

He also said Kaakov – who was kidnapped along with his father and brother – would be released due to “humanitarian issues due to his young age.” It is not known if other members of his family will be released.
Most of the hostages are being held by Hamas, but the PIJ – a smaller militant group in Gaza allied to the region’s ruling movement – has said earlier it was holding at least 30 captives.
Hamas has released four prisoners, including two Americans.
The Israel Defense Forces recently released a video of Hamas terrorists posing as IDF soldiers and kidnapping a man at gunpoint.
The video was taken from GoPros worn by terrorists during the October 7 terrorist attacks. The man was a Bedouin Muslim from the Negev desert, The Sun reported.
