The Israeli military said 10 soldiers were killed in Gaza fighting on Tuesday, including a colonel who had commanded a forward base for the Golani infantry brigade.
The statement, issued on Wednesday, updated an earlier statement that put the latest daily death toll at eight, including a lieutenant colonel who had commanded the Golani regiment.
Lieutenant Colonel Tomer Grinberg, 35, and Maj. Roei Meldasi, 23, is the commander and company commander of the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion, respectively.

The IDF also listed Maj. Moshe Avram Bar On, 23, Sgt. Achia Daskal, 19, SSgt. Oriya Yaakov, 19, Capt. Liel Hayo, 22, has died in the Gaza conflict.
Maj. Ben Shelly, 26, MSgt. Rom Hecht, 20, Sgt. Eron Aloni, 19, and Col. Ben Bashet, 44, was also announced to have been killed on Tuesday.
