The Israel Defense Forces “are ready to carry out various offensive operational plans that include, among other things, integrated and coordinated attacks from the air, sea and land,” they announced Saturday.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was heard telling IDF soldiers “the next stage is coming” during a visit to two of the kibbutzes that were destroyed by Hamas terrorists earlier this week.
Netanyahu’s statement came as IDF soldiers warned “anyone who approaches [Gaza] the border will be shot at,” with the military conducting “small raids” in the area, CNN reported.
The IDF is “preparing for the next step,” said Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, according to the outlet.
The IDF has swarmed the border with troops and military equipment, but the exact contours of its plan to encircle Gaza remain unclear. Israel has ordered evacuations to the region as it prepares for a ground offensive targeting Hamas terrorists.
Overnight, an Israeli airstrike killed two top Hamas military leaders, with the terror group later claiming nine hostages were killed in the effort. Israel also stated that the army has found the bodies of several citizens who went missing during the raid on Gaza.
