A young Israeli couple were killed by Hamas terrorists who broke into their home – but not before the parents hid their 10-month-old twins, who were found alive about 14 hours later, according to reports.
Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky, both 30, were attacked in their home in Kfar Gaza, a kibbutz in southern Israel located about three miles east of Gaza, according to Israeli outlet Walla.
The parents, who hid their baby in a bomb shelter, tried to fight the terrorists but were killed, the newspaper reported.
Israeli forces rescued the unharmed babies about 14 hours later and handed them over to their grandmother.
An unprecedented attack by Hamas on Saturday has left more than 1,000 dead on both sides.
Fighters from the Islamist group killed at least 800 Israelis, wounded about 2,000 and kidnapped dozens more as they attacked Israeli communities in the deadliest attack the country has seen since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
