Jackie Bonds started dating Josh Demas quickly after ending her relationship with Marshall Glaze which led some fans to speculate that she cheated on Marshall during season 4’s “Love Is Blind.”
More than a year after the show wrapped filming, Jackie and Josh are still together and decided not to attend Sunday’s reunion in person. Although they did a quick video Q&A with co-host Vanessa Lachey, many fans were disappointed that Jackie didn’t take responsibility for the hurtful things she recorded to Marshall during their relationship.
Shortly after the reunion aired, Jackie took to Instagram to “take accountability” for what she said and did to Marshall and thanked him for making it clear that he’s “not a cheater.”

In a lengthy Instagram post, Jackie thanked Marshall for saying he wasn’t a liar before apologizing to him and the public for his “actions and words.”
“I want to start this off by sincerely apologizing and taking responsibility for my actions and words in my relationship between Marshall and I,” Jackie began. “I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation for Marshall explaining that I actually ended the relationship before meeting Josh at the coffee shop.”
“I understand that it’s a quick transition from one relationship to another but these relationships don’t start out like most people do in the real world,” she continued. “To some it may seem like it’s a quick transition, but there’s only a small percentage that can be shown on tv and my relationship with Josh is much deeper than it appears from the audience’s perspective.”

“I also want to thank Marshall for taking responsibility for the offensive comments made off camera,” he added. “I also want to apologize and take responsibility for the disparaging statement I also made in the leaked message. It is tasteless and disrespectful to talk about anyone that way.
Jackie was apparently referring to leaked messages in which she made hurtful comments about Marshall and insinuated that he might be gay.
“It was never a battle between Marshall and me,” he continued. “I just want to clear the timeline of the events that happened because it looks like I was a cheater and started one relationship before leaving another.”

“I am grateful that Vanessa Lachey allowed me to speak calmly and take responsibility for my actions,” he said. “All I can do is learn and grow from this experience. As Marshall said at the meeting, we both deserve happiness, peace, and being able to move on from what happened last year.”
“Marshall and I have personally apologized to each other and also taken responsibility for our actions and have moved on. I also want to apologize and take responsibility to the public because it was done in the show for everyone to see,” he concluded. “Actions speak louder than words.”

Many fans did not really accept his apology. “This really doesn’t change anything, you’re still at fault for not communicating about not going to the fitting? Is it still wrong to keep the ring?” asked a fan. “Still wrong for trying to blackmail the man on national TV? Still wrong for performing for influence? Still wrong for hooking up with Josh as fast as you did idc, you were all in the REAL WORLD at that point and couldn’t wait to once again embarrass Marshall. You completely ignore his feelings and you say it out of your own mouth. Like bye fr.”
“I don’t feel as if this apology takes full responsibility for your carelessness in handling yourself. You really don’t care about Marshall’s feelings. It sure looks like she’s surprised you didn’t show up for your dress,” another follower wrote. “That shouldn’t surprise him. Also, you saying he is not manly is very damaging. You don’t have to say those words. I personally feel that Marshall is very brave in an important way.”

Many fans felt that she was “tasteless” deciding to keep the ring that Marshall gave her after he asked her back. “Give me back the ring. To production or Marshall,” another follower chimed in. It’s okay but grow up and give it back. It is tasteless and shameful to hold him hostage for no valid reason.”
