Actress and talk show host Jada Pinkett Smith admitted in a new interview that she and late rapper Tupac Shakur were “soulmates” who may have traveled several “past lives” together.
The recent statement comes amid a firestorm of criticism over her new memoir, in which she reveals stunning details about her marriage to actor Will Smith.

During the interview, Jordan asked about Tupac and if he believed there could be a “soulmate friendship” that wasn’t romantic.

However, during a chat with Jordan for Rolling Out, Smith clarified once again about the claims that he and Tupac were once romantically involved.
The actress, who has spoken several times over the years about her close relationship with the rapper, stated that any romantic relationship with Tupac was impossible because they had “no chemistry.”
Jordan asked, “Have you ever regretted the decision you made to not take it to that level with him and keep it in the friendship space?”
Jada replied, “It’s not possible; there is no chemistry between us.” He added that the only kind of chemistry they have, that people might see between them, is “friendship love chemistry.”

He added, “Let me tell you, don’t think that ‘Pac and I, as I wrote in the book, we had those moments, and I hope I can make people understand the nature of the rejects. It’s almost like God made us like that.”
“It’s like, ‘Look, I’m going to get you all together, you’re going to be a dynamic couple, but I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so you all won’t be able to get together.’ Because that’s not the point,” Jada said, insisting that it wasn’t just her but Tupac as well who didn’t see a romantic relationship ever forming between them.

Jada expressed renewed hope for closure following the latest news of an arrest in connection with the legendary rapper’s 1996 murder.
Through his Instagram story, he shared his thoughts on the arrest of Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis and the possibility of finding answers that have eluded him and many others for years.
“Now I hope we can get some answers and have some closure. RIP Pac,” he wrote after officials announced that Davis had been charged with murder with a deadly weapon in connection with the case.
Per NBC News, the indictment alleges that Davis was involved in the shooting and obtained firearms “for the purpose of exacting retribution against” Tupac and Marion “Suge” Knight, the head of his record label, Death Row, and a Piru Mob. While it did not say that Davis pulled the trigger, he and three other gang members allegedly conspired to kill the rapper “by acting in concert the entire time.”
