“I just opened the last page of Worthy. It’s amazing to realize that despite having lived most of my life by your side, I still find myself surprised and stunned and caught off guard, laughing, then inspired, then heartbroken. I am everywhere. It’s one thing to hear an anecdote at a family barbecue, but it’s really gratifying to take your story, powerfully condensed in this way.”

Once Jay finished reading the letter, which was sent in an email, Jada playfully responded to her husband’s suggestion by saying, “He knows I can’t have Merlot. That’s beautiful. That’s why I can’t divorce the comedian.”

The heartwarming moment between the couple comes more than a month after Jada shared that writing “Worthy” was “emotionally taxing” and described it as “very technical.” As reported by The Blast, he has told his 11.4 million Instagram followers that he will provide insight into the book’s creation process, which begins in December 2021.
Highlighting the view during the interview, the Daytime Emmy Award winner revealed that she is pursuing a writing project to reclaim her narrative of her journey. In his words:
“Many people feel because of my talk show ‘Red Table Talk’ that they know my journey. And they really don’t. There is so much about my journey that I cannot share in a format like RTT.”
She also shared that she chose to name the book “Worthy” because of her need to explore her path to self-worth. Furthermore, Jada expressed her hope that the book will broaden one’s perspective on their own life because it seems to “encompass everything.”
