Banfield-Norris And Rodney Recall Their Love Story In Season Six Of ‘Black Love’
Although the couple maintains a modest relationship, the host of the talk show and her husband, whose love has stood the test of time, were invited to share their stories on the American documentary “Black Love.”
The older couple was featured in the final season of the show and gave more depth to their love that they found in the latter part of their lives. The “Red Table Talk” host said, “I love it, baby. I love marriage. I love the partnership and the commitment that comes with it. And I want to experience it again and hopefully with someone who will last and last. And I think I’ve meet him with Rodney.”
For his part, Rodney revealed that he knew the 69-year-old was the one for him. Interestingly, he accompanied her to send her daughter to college in the 80s. She said, “Something I want to experience as well. I’ve never had that level of commitment with anyone before. We dated for 4 years before we got married. So I think we’re where we need to be to take it to the next level or not. “
Rodney excitedly added, “And it’s something we both want to do. And it’s more than I ever imagined.” The doting husband also revealed that even though his wife works hard, they support each other’s careers.
In his words, “We didn’t get married to be separated. But because of him being on the Table, we live on different coasts. My business is on the East Coast, and his business is on the West Coast. So that’s an extra challenge. But, you know, we work every day to figure it out.”
The Baltimore native, agreeing with her husband, credits him for being her biggest cheerleader. He said, “One thing I really like about Rodney, too, is that when the opportunity came for me, we didn’t realize how it would keep us apart for so long.”
He added, “But he didn’t stand in the way of the opportunity. He’s fully supported me through this Red Table Talk. And, you know, you know, our man won’t be like that.”
