Last month, Curtis had nothing but praise for a possible “Freaky Friday” sequel in a red carpet interview with the Producers Guild Awards.
He told reporters. “It will happen. Without saying anything officially happened, I look at you at this moment and say, ‘Of course it will.’ It will happen.”
A possible “Freaky Friday” sequel in the works has been bubbling under the surface longer than many might have guessed; according to our latest report on Curtis’ red carpet revelations about the “Freaky Friday” sequel, he previously broached the subject last year with TODAY.
“The music, Lindsay [Lohan]… it’s just a great movie and it makes sense that we would do it again,” he said.
The magic of Curtis and Lohan being captured together is genuine; both learn how to play their characters’ instruments and really rock to make their rock and roll skills believable!
In a heartbreaking moment in the film- consider this a spoiler alert- Anna (in her mother, Tess’s body) decides to help her mother backstage at her band’s highly anticipated House Of Blues gig. As Pink Slip performed their garage staple “Take Me Away”, Anna helped her mother play a guitar solo.
Curtis’ moment in the rock and roll spotlight has become one of the film’s most iconic moments of all time. Last year, he reflected on how that unforgettable moment appeared on screen.
He had one request after signing the project; Curtis revealed at last year’s Vulture Festival that he had asked someone to teach him how to play guitar. She even let her husband, Christopher Guest, have a preview of her progress. After all, the guest earned a place in rock and roll history, himself, as a member of Spinal Tap!
What did Curtis think of his “Freaky Friday” guitar solo? “I kill,” he said.
Curtis Believes Early Start Time For Rock Shows Will Be A Punk Rock Movement!
Curtis shared his thoughts in a recent interview with TODAY.
The “True Romance” actor also recently went viral for professing his love at an early bedtime; Curtis revealed he recently turned down an invitation to an Oscars-related dinner because it would have interfered with the shut-eye time. She soon proved her love for catching some ZZZs at a time when most are thinking about dinner plans or taking a break from work, posting a picture of her bedside alarm clock that reads 6:58!
After speaking to Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie about prioritizing the breakup, Curtis said, “I also challenge musicians to do concerts during the day! You see, why is there no matinee? Okay but seriously, I like, for example, I like Coldplay. I want to go see Coldplay! I would love it! The thing is, I’m not going to see Coldplay if they start their show at 9:00, and there’s an opening act,” Curtis continues enthusiastically.
“I want to listen to Coldplay at 1 PM,” he suggested. “I think, if we fill the stadium with people who want to see a Coldplay night show, I think we’ll start a trend,” he told the laughing hosts.
Curtis expanded on his idea in an interview at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, this time challenging Bruce Springsteen and U2 to consider starting earlier.
“…Bruce Springsteen, do a night show,” Curtis begged the “Backstreets” rocker. “You are old! Why don’t you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your prime- I mean- and do it at noon or 1:00? 2:00! at 2:00 p.m.… I’ll come hear your five-hour concert, Bruce, at 2:00, and I’ll go home and go to bed at 7:30.”
