Jamie Lynn Spears has joined “Dancing With the Stars” for the upcoming season. The former child actor teamed up with pro Alan Bersten.
It seems the “Dancing With the Stars” team went out of their way to make sure Spears could compete as the production crew allowed the “Zoey 101” star to practice near her home in Tennessee instead of in the LA studio.

The “Dancing With the Stars” production team gave the actress and her mother a special treat to bring her into the show’s upcoming season.
A source told TMZ that the production team allowed the mother of two to rehearse in a studio near her home in Tennessee. The local practice is a big help for Spears because she is a very doting mother to her children, 5-year-old Ivey and 15-year-old Maddie.
Almost all of the other contestants for the upcoming season appear to be rehearsing in a studio in Los Angeles, so the fact that the “Dancing With the Stars” team accepted Spears just shows how badly they want her this season.
In the past, we’ve seen some stars rehearse outside of the LA studio, usually if they’re filming or have other commitments before signing a “Dancing With the Stars” contract.

After it was announced that she would be joining “Dancing With the Stars,” Jamie Lynn Spears took to social media to pledge that she would donate her salary to the WGA writers’ strike and the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike.
“Decided to lace up my dancing shoes for a good cause,” Jamie Lynn captioned her Instagram post. “I’m being offered a truly extraordinary opportunity from something I’m used to doing, but it’s during my community #SAG & #WGA strike & all of us members can’t work until we reach a fair resolution, so if I can use the unique opportunity this is to bring more awareness and to donate the salary I get for dancing every week back to the community that has given me so much, so that’s the least I can do.”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better partner than @alanbersten to guide me through this adventure,” he continued. “I’m not going to lie, I’m scared, but I’m just going to have fun and hope to give back in a meaningful way so we can ALL GET BACK TO OUR DAY JOBS.” He ended his post with the hashtags #SAGAFTRASTRONG, #WGA, and #SAG.
Jamie Lynn Spears is best known for her role as Zoey Brooks on Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101” and as the younger sister of pop icon, Britney Spears, has won several awards for her work, including the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Actress (2006). He also won the Teen Choice Award for Favorite TV Actor: Comedy (2006) and the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actor in a Comedy Series (2006).
