As you know, the Hollywood veteran announced that he was diagnosed with “non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma” in September. Even though she’s undergoing chemotherapy, it hasn’t stopped the “Barbarella” star from letting loose at the Pink Castle, a private residence in Buckhead.
The birthday bash was organized to raise funds for the actress’ teen pregnancy prevention and teen health organization, the Georgia Campaign for Teen Empowerment & Potential (GCAPP). Thanks to the incredible turnout for Fonda’s birthday party, over $1 million was raised for the foundation.
How does the cast of “Book Club” have the strength to host events and attend parties while undergoing cancer treatment? Well, power comes naturally to the two-time BAFTA awardee.
“I didn’t lose my hair. I don’t feel nauseous,” he told People Magazine at the event. “The week when I had chemo was tough, but after that, I felt good. I feel very strong.”
At Thursday’s gathering, the 84-year-old admitted to feeling weak from chemo treatment. However, he finds solace in the fact that he is “halfway through” the process, which is “easier than many other cancer treatments”.
Overall, the actress was feeling “great” and looking better than ever as she joined the event’s host, comedian Heather McMahan on stage. Stunning in an embellished black gown, the National Women’s Hall of Fame inductee sat on a floral chair.

In attendance for the fundraiser/birthday party were A-listers such as Tyler Perry, Ludacris, Glennon Doyle, Sara Blakely, Sanjay Gupta and his wife Rebecca, among others. Guests were treated to stellar performances by icons such as Gladys Knight.
A few days before the event, Fonda opened up about having no regrets to the news outlet. The Hollywood veteran, who always lives his life to the fullest, explained that he has no plans to stop.
“I have lived a good life. I have lived a productive and intentional life. And dying is part of life. I hope I can be an example to young people so they don’t fear getting older.”
As a preacher who often lives in the moment, the SAG award nominee continued with words of inspiration: “Even on the days I get chemo, I still do exercise. It’s slow and it’s not what it used to be, but I’m still moving and staying strong.”
One of the “Our Souls at Night” star’s best qualities is her ability to make her dreams come true. A month after she announced her diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, The Blast reports that the positive Queen is back in the spotlight with a heart-pounding entrance.
As she noted in her September health update on Instagram, the 84-year-old doesn’t let her illness stop her from enjoying every moment, especially activism. Fonda’s first public appearance will be at the 2022 Pennsylvania Conference for Women.

The “All of Me” star expressed her gratitude to God that her friend was not in danger because she had “one of the most treatable forms of cancer”. The Detroit native noted that her longtime Pal positivity hasn’t diminished with her diagnosis.
“He was like, ‘So are you coming to my next fundraiser?’ Tomlin said, “That’s the main objective.” Once again, this proves that Fonda remains a force to be reckoned with.
