The 84-year-old actor shared the news on Instagram but also added that he has started treatment and assured that the cancer is very treatable. The charming star has always been a source of inspiration since her youth when she campaigned for racial equality in the 1960s.

The Hollywood icon graced the stage during the 2022 “Pennsylvania Conference For Women” which took place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Thursday, per the Daily Mail. The famous activist appeared to be thriving, smiling enthusiastically as he sat on stage, wearing a tailored light gray plaid suit.

Fonda looked gorgeous in her plaid blazer fitted with a belt to hug her waist, and wore a white t-shirt underneath the blazer. The “Barbarella” star finished off her look by rocking light gray slacks with dark gray boots.
She had styled her silver hair and adorned her dress with gold earrings and bracelets. The conference Fonda attended is a non-profit, non-partisan, professional and personal development event aimed at empowering women.
With more than 100 speakers made up of high-powered women, the conference discussed important issues affecting women’s lives, such as work/life balance, personal finance, health, business and entrepreneurship, and executive leadership, among other topics.
During his session, Fonda, in true nature, didn’t hesitate to make light jokes that had the crowd roaring. According to the conference’s website, her good friend Lily Tomlin has been added to the lineup for the day, and the two will have a “conversation about friendship, career resilience, age, activism and more.”
Fonda Opens Up About Her Cancer Diagnosis On Instagram
Fonda’s appearance at the 2022 “Pennsylvania Conference For Women” comes less than a month after she revealed her cancer diagnosis. The “9 to 5” actor had an intimate moment with his fans when he revealed the life-changing diagnosis in an Instagram post on September 2.

As we reported, the star shared a beautiful selfie featuring herself but accompanied the photo with a heartfelt caption. Opening up about her health, she wrote, “So, dear friends, I have something personal to share. I have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo.”
The upbeat star went on to reassure her fans, writing, “This is a treatable cancer. 80% of people survive. So I feel very lucky. I’m also lucky that I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it hurts, that I am privileged in this regard. Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another, and too many don’t have access to the quality health care that I receive, and this is not right.”
The 84-year-old didn’t let his diagnosis stop him from continuing to fight for the causes he believes in, writing, “We also need to talk more, not just about the cure but about the cause so we can eradicate it. For example, people need to know that fossil fuels cause cancer. So are pesticides, mostly based on fossil fuels, like mine.”
He added, “I did chemo for 6 months and handled the treatment well, and, believe me, I will not let any of this interfere with my climate activism.”
The former fashion model continued her statement, stating that “Cancer is a teacher,” and she has decided to embrace and pay attention to the lessons she can learn from her experience with the disease.

Following Fonda’s revelation, her best friend, while on tour at the “Toronto International Film Festival,” shared an update on the “Klute” star’s health to concerned individuals who wanted to know how the actor was doing.
According to The Blast, Tomlin assured fans that his best friend is a force to be reckoned with. In his words, “He was very frank and talked about what happened to him in all aspects. The first thing, he said, ‘Don’t worry, it’s completely treatable. It’s one of the most treatable forms possible you have, so I’m very lucky in that regard.”
The “NCIS” actress went on to assure that her friend is focusing on the positive side of her prognosis. He concluded by quoting Fonda, saying, “He was like, ‘So are you going to come to my next fundraiser? Imagine, “That’s the main objective.”
