The two-time Oscar winner was grateful to receive beautiful messages from her fans even though she couldn’t read them all. On Instagram, she posted a collaboration with Jane Fonda’s activism brand Climate PAC, featuring a video of her sitting on a sofa and wearing a cream turtleneck sweater, dark pants and a yellow hat.
Before reading the letter, Fonda thanked all the senders and urged others to keep sending their letters. He said, “I love reading your birthday messages, you guys. You know our inbox isn’t closed yet. You can still send your message on the form.”
The “Sunday in New York” actress referred to the form on her website, JanePAC.com but provided an alternative for the message; sent the message BIRTHDAY to 40506, which was repeated in the post’s caption.
His first choice was a letter from Cynthia, a northern Minnesota resident, who talked about how Fonda’s work prompted her to return to “campaigning and activism.” The seven-time Golden Globe Award winner showered her with praise and called Minnesota a “beautiful part of the country” where the water in the creeks and lakes is drinkable.
At the same time, he revealed that his activism efforts in the state had not been successful, and he hoped the water would never be affected by pipe pollution. Returning to the letter, she read: “My heart soared when I read your health updates in your blog. You inspire this 50-year-old grandmother every day!”
In a second message from Chelsey in Nashville, she was happy to hear Fonda’s cancer had recovered in time for her special day. Chelsey also emphasized the impact of activism and the “Adjustment Period” star’s acting on her life, which has “really opened my eyes to what’s going on in the world.”
As someone from “a very conservative family and hometown,” she had to forget a lot, thanks to Fonda and was inspired to volunteer during the 2020 election.
