The fire broke out after one of Leno’s cars suddenly burst into flames — without warning.

The star of the popular YouTube channel, “Jay Leno’s Garage,” previously revealed that he owns approximately 181 cars and 160 motorcycles at his Burbank home.

The unexpected explosion occurred while Leno was working on a clogged fuel line on his 1907 White Steam Car.

Gasoline hit Leno’s face and hands, and at the same time a fuel leak and a spark occurred which triggered the explosion. This set the comedian on fire.

A skin graft is a patch of skin that is surgically removed from one part of the body and transplanted, or attached, to another area, according to Mount Sinai.

A Skin Graft May Be Needed To Repair Her Burns

This surgery is usually done while you are under general anesthesia, which means the patient will be asleep and not in pain.

Healthy skin is taken from a place on your body called a donor site. Most people who undergo skin grafts have split-thickness skin grafts. This takes the top two layers of skin from the donor site (epidermis) and the layer below the epidermis (dermis).

The burns didn’t affect his eyes or ears, thankfully.

He was rushed to a nearby burn center by ambulance. Speaking to the outlet, Leno said he expected to be hospitalized for five to ten days.

Leno Says He Needs Two Weeks To Get Back Up!

He reiterated this sentiment in a statement to Diversity said, “I got serious burns from a gasoline fire. I’m fine. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

Leno has been photographed in his vintage car all over Los Angeles.

He launched his YouTube channel, “Jay Leno’s Garage,” in 2014 to showcase his extensive and expensive car collection.

As we previously reported, in recent years, Leno has been outspoken about his health, including living with high cholesterol.

So when news first broke about Leno canceling an upcoming appearance due to a “serious medical emergency,” many fans worried that Leno was suffering from health problems related to his high cholesterol.
