Jeffrey Epstein victim feared talking to police over threats she heard pedophile make to others: ‘You’re going to die’

A victim of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was afraid to talk to police about him because she had heard him threaten others, according to court documents.

The victim — who was around “16 or 17” when she first met Epstein — was asked about her 2005 statement to Palm Beach police, in which she admitted she didn’t feel safe talking about the crooked financier because she had heard him tell others things like, “ You will die; you will break your leg.”

The threats were revealed in a 2016 deposition the woman gave in a defamation lawsuit filed by Epstein’s accuser Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell.

The document is one of 191 court filings announced this week in the long-settled case.

A lawyer, citing the teenager’s statement to police, said he confirmed Epstein was known to make threats – but the victim said he could not remember the specifics, as he was deliberately trying to put the traumatic experience behind him.

“I remember a hostile conversation where he was upset with people, and I assumed that it was his business and none of my business,” said the victim, who was not named publicly in the document.

A school friend coaxed her into going to Epstein’s mansion in Palm Beach for a massage, and when she got there, “all of a sudden, something horrible happened to me,” she said, according to records.

In another document released Friday, another alleged victim, Sarah Ransome, complained to one of the billionaire’s recruiters about her recent fight with Epstein.

“There was a bit of a fight with Jeffrey. Oh well what can you do?!” he emailed a woman named Natalie, most likely Natalya Malyshev, who had introduced the 22-year-old Ransome to Epstein the previous year.

The distressed note came as Ransome asked Epstein and his staff for help by applying to the Fashion Institute of Technology while he was traveling in South Africa, according to the email.

“Could you please ask Jeffery what the plan of action is that I don’t get [sic] apply online and need to apply as soon as possible or I definitely won’t be able to study,” he emailed Epstein’s executive assistant, Laura Groff.

Ransome previously claimed that Epstein promised he would use his influence to get him admitted to FIT, but according to the messages, the billionaire strangely pressured him to lose weight to attend the New York City school.

“Can you… please tell Jeffery to call me on the number I gave you as soon as possible because I’m not ready to lose weight below 56kg. [123 lbs] to study at FIT,” he wrote to Groff.

Meanwhile, in an unsealed excerpt from a 2016 deposition, a Palm Beach detective described a “trash haul” by law enforcement that ultimately helped authorities identify victims of Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse.

Palm Beach Detective Joseph Recarey said while sifting through Epstein’s trash, he and other officers found a message slip that listed a girl’s name and number.

“We’re going to do our best to identify who that person is,” said Recarey, who died in 2018, adding the slip eventually helped them identify some of Epstein’s victims.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for recruiting and grooming underage girls for child sex abuse.
