“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah will be required to enroll in a mental health treatment program after serving a six-and-a-half-year sentence.
Shah was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for his involvement in a telemarketing scam that preyed on the elderly and defrauded thousands.
The reality star initially maintained his innocence when he was arrested before later pleading guilty. He apologized to the family and victims for his crime.

The Bravolebrity will serve six-and-a-half years in prison for his role in a bogus telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly and defrauded thousands of people out of their money.
Shah’s lawyer, Priya Chaudry, reiterated that the reality star deeply regrets her mistake and also apologized to the victims of the scheme.
“Jen believes in our justice system, understands that anyone who breaks the law will be punished, and accepts this punishment as fair,” said Chaudry, per Page Six. He went on to add, “Jen will pay her debt to society and when she becomes a free woman again, she vows to pay her debt to the victims harmed by her mistakes.”
According to Inner City NewspaperUS District Judge Sidney Stein argued that Shah’s role in “RHOSLC” should not be confused with who he really is, noting that he was a central figure in the conspiracy.
He Must Undergo a Mental Health Treatment Program After Time Out

Shah will not be released even after serving his prison sentence as he still has other conditions to fulfill before being released.
For the reality TV star to be released from prison, TMZ reported that he must complete five years of supervised release and undergo a mental health treatment program.
According to reports, Shah apologized for his crime and became emotional during the sentencing, saying, “With the right medication, I can now see what happened.”
After his release from prison, he must continue taking his medications unless his doctor directs otherwise. Additionally, he may be subject to drug and alcohol testing to determine if he has continued use of these substances, and his probation officer must be notified of the mental health program he is enrolled in.

The mother of two was disappointed when she apologized to her husband Sharrieff and sons Omar and Sharrieff Jr. before he was sentenced. “I am very sorry,” Shah saidaccording to ABC reporter Aaron Katersky.
The Inner City Newspaper reported that Shah apologized to his youngest son, Omah, for being present when federal authorities came to arrest him. “To my baby Omar, Mommy is very sorry that you were surprised at gunpoint,” he said.
The reality star also expressed his regret to the public who fell for his telemarketing scam. “You and the world know me as Jen Shah, but reality TV has nothing to do with reality, even my slogan, Shah-mazing — they wrote it. I want to talk about who I am,” Shah recorded.
“I’m sorry. My actions hurt innocent people. I want to apologize by saying, I did everything I could to get the funds to pay the restitution,” the reality star said, according to a Twitter thread by Inner City Press.

In addition to losing several luxury items such as bags, jewelry, rings and jackets, Shah, 49, will have to pay about $6 million in damages.
US Judge Stein questioned Shah about how he planned to pay the $6 million in damages, which Shah did answered“My manager is here, we’re working on something.”
he acknowledged that he would seek to make that restitution from behind bars and stated that he had donated the proceeds from the sale of case-related merchandise that he had sold through a third-party vendor to the victim.
Shah is expected to turn himself in on February 17, 2023, to begin his prison term. The judge did not specify a specific facility but said it would be in Texas territory.
