Jenna Bush Hager is here entertaining fans with a surprising new fact about her marriage to her husband, Henry Chase Hager.
It’s been 15 years since Jenna married the love of her life, but if it were up to her, the couple would have married sooner than when they tied the knot in 2008. On an episode of “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” the talk show host revealed that she proposed to Henry several years before their actual engagement.

The 41-year-old co-host’s husband proposed to her in 2007, but as he mentioned recently on his show, he wasn’t the first person in their relationship to dare ask the other party to marry him.
Jenna, who celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary in May, explained to E! News anchor Justin Sylvester — who co-hosts with Hoda Kotb — how he posed the question five years before he answered it.
She stated that she first proposed to her man three months into their relationship after “a few cocktails” on a night out. However he comes, Henry doesn’t give him the answer he’s hoping for as he rejects her marriage proposal.
For Jenna, everything turned out well in the end because her lover made a “real proposal” and asked Jenna to marry him a few years later. He sought the blessing of his father, former president George W. Bush during a visit to Camp David, the president’s retreat in Maryland.

The mother of three explained that her husband was so nervous about asking for his father’s blessing that he read the Bible first. “[It was] not easy. He actually reads the Bible,” he told Justin. “He has a seven-point plan about why he wants to marry me and how he’s going to take care of me,” she added.
When the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in May, the former teacher posted a beautiful tribute to her Instagram page. He shared pictures from his wedding and other pictures of them showing their love for each other. One of the group shows them sitting on the train while Jenna rests her head on Henry’s shoulder.
Another showed the sweet couple on a boat in the middle of the ocean. The last picture shows the two of them when they were young, smiling and cutting a big cake. The author of “Ana’s Story: A Journey of Hope” captioned the post with the sweetest caption that read:
“15 years with HH in my grasp. I love him. A lot. ❤️❤️”
The post has received thousands of likes and comments from famous faces, including Octavia Spencer and Chelsea Handler, who both wished her “Happy Birthday.”
One follower noted, “I knew it was meant for me when you said, “I could be smoother Henry ? ? ? ?? ? Happy Birthday @jennabhager!” Another wrote: “Happy day you two. Still looking the same, even better beautiful.”

Jenna and Henry first met more than a decade ago while Henry was working on her father’s re-election campaign in 2004. At the time, she was a teacher at Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School in DC
Jenna tells Kotb about their first date, which didn’t go as planned. “My worst first date involved the Secret Service; let it be,” said Jenna. “It was with Henry, and his car ran out of gas and left [backward] and press Secret Service.”
The couple quickly became inseparable, attending Inauguration parties, including the White House Dinner, and other public events. According to “Read All About It!” writer, when May 2006 rolled around, she thought Henry was going to propose.
He recounted how the two of them went to dinner one night at Asia Nora in Washington DC and misread his intentions when he asked the waiter to bring a bottle of champagne with a note on it. “I thought you were proposing!” he screamed.
Although it wasn’t a proposal, Henry popped the question in August 2007. On May 10, 2008, the same day as Henry’s 30th birthday, the couple walked down the aisle in romantic Texas on a remote ranch in the Bush.
So much has happened throughout their relationship, but Jenna and Henry seem to be just as in love now as ever — their three children.
