On a recent episode of “Red Table Talk” with Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield Norris, McCurdy read a shocking email her mother once sent her. The email can also be found in McCurdy’s new book, “I’m Glad My Mom Died.”

McCurdy Reads Shocking Email Aloud
In the clip, the “iCarly” star, 30, reads aloud an email her mother once sent her about a TMZ photo online. “‘I’m so disappointed in you. You used to be my perfect little angel, but now you’re nothing more than a little’ – all caps – ‘slut, whore, all over,'” McCurdy said. “‘And to think you wasted it on that hideous monster of a man. I saw the pictures on a website called TMZ. I saw you rubbing his hideous hairy stomach. I knew you were lying about Colton.’ (I’ve told him I’m with a friend, Colton.) Add that to the list of things you have: liar, conniving, evil.'”

The email continued, “‘You look fatter too. It’s obvious you’re eating your guilt. Thinking of you with a ding-dong inside you makes me sick. Sick! I raised you better than this. What happened to my good little girl. girl? Where did she go and who is this monster that has replaced her? You are an ugly monster now. I told your brother about you and they all said they disowned you as much as I did. We want nothing to do with you. Love Mom – or should I say Deb because I’m not your mom anymore? PS Send money for a new fridge; ours is broken.'”

“I’m Glad My Mother Died” Is Everyone’s Story
In the book, McCurdy opens up about her life with her mother, the abuse and the healing process. McCurdy recently told PEOPLE, “I don’t know how to identify without my mom. And I’m not going to lie, it was really hard to get here. But now I’m in a place in my life that I never would have thought maybe . And finally I’m free.”
The book also goes into detail about specific instances of abuse, her eating disorder, and alleged “hush money” Nickelodeon offered to stop her from speaking negatively about her time as a child actor on the network. The book quickly became number one on the New York Times Hardcover Best Seller list. McCurdy captioned an Instagram photo showing the feat, “well, this is awesome.
