Barbara “Babs” Costello Has a Pumpkin Carving Hack That Works
Costello, otherwise known as “Internet Mom/Grandma” on Instagram and “Everyone’s Grandma” on TikTok, posted her pumpkin carving hack video on social media where she goes through the steps on how to carve a pumpkin the easy way. The video has been viewed more than 22.9 million times on TikTok!
“🎃Pumpkin Carving Dos and Don’ts 🎃 It’s a treasured tradition in our family to carve jack-o-lanterns for Halloween,” she began her caption. “But with all the mess and mess, sometimes my kids will stop the project before we even get started. Babs’ Dos and Don’ts for Pumpkin Carving, saves mess and speeds up carving with no mess and no ruckus. Happy Halloween 🎃 XO Babs”
Costello’s Instagram video received more than 7,000 comments. One follower wrote, “Oh hello, I’m old today when I realize I’ve been making upside down jack-o-lanterns my whole life 😮😭.” Another added, “SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN A NOBEL PRIZE. This is all groundbreaking information to me. I’ve been doing Halloween wrong all my life.” One follower added what many may be thinking, “Omg, do we love having a life before Babs, do we know anything?”
Jennifer Garner Tested And Approved The Carving Hack
After watching Costello’s pumpkin carving tutorial, Garner gathered all the necessary supplies – a good-sized pumpkin, a carving knife and a hand mixer, and began her experiment. After cutting out the bottom of the pumpkin as Costello suggested, Garner pulled out a hand blender to clean the pumpkin and showed her followers how easy it really is (and it works!) She then scooped out the seeds with ease and placed them away. into the bowl, looking a little confused about how it’s as easy as Costello makes it out to be in his video.
Many of Garner’s Instagram followers were excited to try this out for themselves. Cookbook author Amanda Haas commented, “GREAT NEWS! I just saw @kalejunkie doing this on IG this morning and now you! Can’t wait to try it! 😀💪🏼 🎃🎃🎃✨” Chef Catherine McCord also wanted to give a spin, “Making this TODAY!!!!! 🎃🎃🎃” Molly Sims added, “This is amazing and it works.” Many other comments mirrored the same reaction saying they’re going to try this hack out, it’s genius, and Babs needs her own show.

Costello is known for sharing tips, tricks and hacks, as well as delicious recipes. He has 2.5 million followers on his TikTok page just waiting to see what he will share next. She was recently featured in an episode of “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” teaching the world how to keep the dishwasher clean and fresh.
