The “Passengers” actor sat down in awe with the “Fences” star for one episode of Variety’s “Actor on Actor” series, bringing the two industry colleagues together to talk about how far they’ve come and their craft.

Being important pioneers in their own right does not take away the challenges they may face in the industry. Lawrence, who is usually never shy, became an instant fangirl and said, “This is truly the biggest honor of my life. Your performance in ‘Fence’ changed my life.”

During the segment, they talked about how his role in the movie “Causeway,” in which he produced and starred as a military veteran who comes home from a traumatic brain injury, came at the right time.

The 32-year-old said, “I did [Causeway] right before I got married, and then we had the plague. Two years later, I got pregnant; we go back and do another one.” He mentions that the scariest thing in the world for him is the thought of starting a family, because he doesn’t believe he can do that without messing it up.

The “Winter’s Bone” actress compared her fear of failure to her role as “Lynsey” in the film, who also battled similar feelings, adding that it was interesting to make a film where the character and herself mirrored each other. The award-winning actress, who gave birth to her son Cy in early 2022, revealed that dealing with motherhood is not without its problems, saying:

“Every day being a mother, I feel terrible. I feel guilty.”

She stated that she often questioned herself while playing with him, asking, “Is this what he wants to do? Should we be outside? We are outside. What if he’s cold? What if he’s going to get sick? Should we be inside? Is this enough? Is this enough to wake up your brain?”

The 57-year-old veteran actress tried to put her fear of being the perfect mother to rest by sharing the story of how she accidentally locked her daughter in the car. Lawrence laughingly recounts her own story of how she drove without bending over her son in the back seat, adding, “OK, good! Nice to know that we all nearly killed our children.”

It’s not the first time the “Silver Linings Playbook” star has talked about fearing motherhood, as The Blast shared in September that she talked about her fears in another interview with Vogue.

Lawrence revealed the gender and name of her precious bundle of joy, which she shares with her husband, Cooke Maroney. The “Joy” star explained that being told by friends that she might not “fall in love right away” with her baby after giving birth scared her.

Fortunately, she says the opposite was true for her, as she describes her birthday as “the first day of my life.” Mom!” star admitted that she’s put off talking about how much she loves her baby and being a mom, adding,

“If I said, It was amazing from the beginning, some people would think, It wasn’t amazing for me at first, and feel bad.”

The “American Hustle” actor stated that he feels ready to forgive himself even though it turns out he doesn’t love his little one because he has many female friends who are open and honest with him about expectations. The one thought that crossed his mind was that he didn’t think he would care for any creature other than his cat, even though this was not the case.

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Star Opens Up About Miscarriage And Miscarriage

Lawrence surprised fans when she shared why she has always made her stance on abortion and women’s rights so clear. The Blast reports that she revealed that she almost had an abortion in her 20s but unexpectedly miscarried.

Speaking to Vogue, the “Dark Phoenix” star stated that at the time, she was very confident in her decision, adding that years later, during the filming of “Don’t Look Up,” she became pregnant again and suffered another miscarriage.

She also mentioned that she needed to undergo a surgery called dilation and curettage (D&C) to completely remove all the tissue from her uterus.
