While chatting with Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb about her life, the topic of McCarthy’s son, Evan, 21, entered the conversation.

“He was the sweetest, most amazing human being,” McCarthy said proudly. “He’s working on ‘Masked Singer.’ He’s a production assistant so he works with the audience. If you come to the show, Evan will greet you, he’ll probably throw a t-shirt at you, help out backstage and be on cloud nine.”

McCarthy, beaming with pride as she talked about her son, said she had trouble sleeping the night before her first day, and explained the feeling is similar to when you send your kindergartner off to school for the first time. He said that he immediately adapted to his new role and loved it.

“He was the person of so many people, they all fell in love with him. Everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s the sweetest.’ And he wants to be there,” he continued. “They gave him a walkie-talkie with ear buds and he was like, ‘I look so professional.’ He was like, ‘I’m protecting you on set, mom. If anything happens, I’ve got you.’”

While chatting with Kotb and Bush Hager about her amazing relationship with husband Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block, McCarthy revealed they sleep together every night, even if they don’t share the same bed.

“Still in the honeymoon phase. Honestly, I swear to God, you can ask anybody we know,” McCarthy said. “We FaceTime 10 times a day. We’ll FaceTime sleep next to each other.”

When Bush Hager asked if that meant they left their phones on all night, McCarthy replied, “Yes. All night. Every night – unless the signal is bad, he’s there, snoring on that pillow.”

“We’ve done work, and we’ve dated. We do fun things together, we find personal time to have that fun,” he said. “Sometimes it’s about turning off the TV at night and just talking.”

The lovebirds first met in 2012 when they both appeared on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live” and then met again when Wahlberg made an appearance on McCarthy’s VH1 talk show, “The Jenny McCarthy Show” in 2013. The two began dating later that year and tied the knot in August 2014, and have renewed their vows every year since their anniversary.
