In a YouTube video uploaded last week, the “Blossom” child star answered a viewer’s question asking: “What do you do when you feel useless, irrelevant and worthless, or do you never feel that way?”

“Good question,” he replied in comments transcribed by the NY Post. “I feel that way, and it’s a little bit difficult to answer because I know from where I sit, obviously, I have a platform and I can talk to people.

“I would say I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to be here, and I’m still human and I often feel that what I’m doing is not what I’m supposed to be doing, or I’m not doing it. good enough, or I’m not reaching enough people, or I’m not doing it right, or I look stupid,” he continued. “Just mention it and I’ll think it.”

“Some people like to surround themselves with people who won’t make them feel useless, irrelevant, and worthless, but because I’m an actor, I grew up in a world where everyone was, like, ‘You’re great,’ and sometimes it’s hard for me tend to the people who believe,” he added.

In a 2023 interview with Vulture, Michael Davies tried to defend the two new co-hosts’ new hosting style, admitting that no one could replace late host Alex Trebek, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2020.

“This show is very difficult to host,” Davies said. “Alex made it himself… I read everything, and look, the strongest thing we have is the passion of our fans. I hope a lot of our fans are more patient in understanding that we are dealing with two hosts.”

“Mayim is a very experienced actor. Ken is a very experienced ‘Jeopardy’. players. They are both at the beginning of their hosting careers,” continued Davies. “I will do everything I can to make this happen.” He also explained that he takes the feedback he gets from fans very “seriously.”

Davies was then asked if the majority of fans seemed to prefer Ken over Mayim, or Mayim over Ken. “I can’t give you an absolute number,” Davies explained. “In terms of the small percentage of our audience that uses Reddit or Twitter, there are Ken fans and there are Mayim fans. There are some people who like ‘Jeopardy!’ and will watch both. We also had multiple fans posting that they didn’t like one of them.”

However, he said that when it comes to ratings, there is “zero difference” depending on who is hosting, noting that it is “exactly the same” between the two hosts. While some fans wanted just one “Jeopardy!” host, the executive producer stood by his decision to have Ken Jennings return and host, even if it meant giving up his role on “The Chase.”

“I stand by the decision to bring Ken in and Ken to be the second host with Mayim. I support both of them,” Davies said, adding, “I go to the studio every day and try to make them both better at hosting the show and make a better program environment around them. They have my full support.”
