On Thursday, Jeremy Renner took to Instagram to update fans on his physical recovery. The “Avengers” actor shared a video of him exercising his legs on an anti-gravity treadmill. He captioned the post, “First attempt at very light jogging with heavy assisted lifting for a broken tibia.”

In his update, Renner also shared his brief motivation during recovery, writing, “Pain is progress for me.” He says jogging is a “new exercise” and requires “movements that I’m not used to.” As he jogs and starts breathing heavier, Renner adds, “Walk and jog [use] very different muscle groups.”

About a week ago, Renner shared a motivational video showing all of his progress since his January accident. The clip shows the “Mayor of Kingstown” actor receiving help as he uses a walker to take small steps.

By the end of the video, which was compiled by his physical therapist, Renner had improved his stability and speed and was walking without assistance. In another video, the actor shows himself working out and says he’s taking “a new part for a little test drive.”

In April, Renner did an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote his new documentary miniseries, “Rennervations.” The Academy Award nominee discussed his injuries and said he was very “lucky” that he survived the terrifying accident and that the snowplow didn’t hit the viral body part.

He shared, “It (snow plow) just missed every vertebra, didn’t hit any organ, the membrane didn’t swell. My eyes did pop out — that was weird — but I was pretty lucky that no organs were messed up.”
