Talk show host Jerry Springer died on Thursday at the age of 79 after a battle with cancer.

One of his last TV interviews was in August 2022, when he was the special guest of The Meatball’s Host on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” in their first episode.

Jerry was a special guest of Host The Meatball on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” in the show’s first episode. Jerry was taken to the house before being invited inside.

“Jerry Springer, like, is a G,” Angelina says in voiceover as she goes to get him a water bottle on screen. “Hanging out with him was cool. I love the f—ing man.”

After showing her a photo of her dog, she tells him about her roommate, Vinnie, asking, “Please tell me how to get rid of someone who is obsessed with me.”

After a few cuts to the girls who are freaking out about Jerry being in the house, she continues, “He acts like he doesn’t love me to death in front of everyone, but behind closed doors…”

“…he is,” Jerry finished for him.

“I just feel like every time I see him, his pants get bigger,” she said as the camera panned to a reaction shot from Jerry. “And, I was like, man, I can’t.”

The video then cuts to Deena saying that she feels Jerry is someone who “won’t judge us” and is “the OG of this whole hosting game.” Snooki added, “Icon.” After reminding fans that “The Jerry Springer” show ran for 27 seasons and featured over 5,000 episodes, it cuts to Jerry at home, still listening to Angelina complaining about how she “jumps rope for a living.”

The girls start having trouble with the walkie talkies, much to Jerry’s delight. “Alright, I’m sending Mr. Springer now,” Chris said as both girls continued to freak out. Deena and Snooki chanted her name and Jerry waved to the unseen crowd as he exchanged hugs with the two girls.

“You… meatballs?” Jerry asked. When they confirmed that they were right, he asked, “Swedish?” before he got the deadly answer, “No. drunk.”

When asked if he had seen “Jersey Shore,” Jerry admitted, “I saw a few episodes.” The girls start talking to each other, as Deena says, “We are where we are because of you.” Snooki added that they used to stay home and watch her show. “You’re taking reality TV to its place,” Snooky said, to which Jerry replied, “I’m sorry.”

When asked if they could call him dad, Jerry stole a classic line from Maury Pauvich, saying, “I’m not his father.” Even as Snooki states, “You’re our dad and we love you,” Jerry asks, “Can we at least get tested?”

In a March 2022 interview with Page Six, the former Cincinnati mayor admitted that he couldn’t think of anything more fun than “The Jerry Springer Show,” which ran from 1991 to 2018.

“I can’t think of anything more fun,” Jerry recalled. “I mean, I never took it seriously. I always knew it was a stupid show. But it’s fun, and people enjoy it.” He compared the experience of watching the show to chewing gum, saying, “It’s not going to save the world, but it’s not going to kill you either.”

He went on to say that the show has a “democratic quality” that introduces the world to all kinds of people they might not come across in everyday life. He then compared it to popular ’90s sitcoms, including “Seinfeld” and “Friends.”

“’Seinfeld,’ ‘Frasier,’ ‘Friends,’ it always looks good, upper middle class people. And that was it, and suddenly my plan appeared,” he recalled. He said that “The Jerry Springer Show” showcases people who “have never really been on television before,” which accounts for the show’s huge appeal.

Jerry also joked that, compared to today’s social media, “Our show is like ‘I Love Lucy.’”

In 2019, Jerry delivered grandfatherly advice on his new show, “Judge Jerry” which only ran for three seasons before its abrupt cancellation.
