Jessa Duggar Hopes To Take Social Media Break Following Heartbreaking Miscarriage

Our prayers are with Jessa Duggar!

Fans of the TLC star know the 30-year-old from various documentaries about her large family, starting with “14 Kids and Pregnant Again.” As the fifth child in a clan of nineteen children, the Tontitown native stood out for his cheerful personality and gained a large following.

However, the “19 Kids and Counting” alum and her family are going through a tough time. The reality TV star, who shares four children with husband Benjamin Seewald, recently announced the tragic loss of the couple’s fifth baby.

Duggar revealed that she lost her fifth child after a miscarriage in an emotional YouTube clip titled “Heartbreak Over The Holidays. In the nearly 19-minute video, the grieving mother documents the unfortunate loss of her pregnancy, including the painful aftermath.

The footage begins with the touching moment the TV personality and her lover informed their children — Spurgeon, Henry, Ivy, and Fern — of their sibling conception in November. The clip moves through the unexpected moments leading up to the sad news, including an 11-week update.

Jessa Duggar explained that, unlike her previous pregnancies, she was getting sick more often and had “spotted” blood. After breaking the news to her family, they comforted the 30-year-old by singing hymns and praying for good news.

However, the mother of four scheduled an ultrasound with her doctor to make sure everything was fine. Unfortunately, the doctor admitted that her baby was not “looking good.” Recalling the heartbreaking moment, the TLC alumni said,

“Nothing could have prepared me for the weight of those words at that moment. At that time, I was really shocked. I have no words. I immediately started crying.”

After the doctor left the couple to process the loss, the grieving parents sat there in shock, holding hands as they cried. “I feel like in some ways a miscarriage can be very jarring because you don’t have any obvious signs that something is wrong,” Duggar continued, noting that the only sign she had was “minimal spotting for 24 hours.”

Because of her history of bleeding, the “Growing Up Duggar” co-author explained that doctors were concerned about allowing her to use medication that would allow her to “release the baby at home.” Rather than risk possible complications, she received a dilation and curettage procedure to remove the fetus.

Tearfully recounting the moments after the procedure, the Tontitown native admitted that she fell into an abyss of self-doubt and wondered how she could save her baby. In Duggar’s words:

“The 10 to 15 minutes before I was taken back to the room where Ben and my mother were waiting were probably some of the hardest of my life. Just lying there feeling alone.”

The emotional toll is indescribable. However, the brunette noted that having her four children supporting her made the process even more difficult. Also, the family finds solace in their strong faith. “When you lose someone you love so much, it makes heaven sweeter,” said the grieving mother.

“We talked about that with the kids. We can’t wait to meet this little one in heaven one day,” he added. However, the 30-year-old admitted that he plans to take a break from social media to focus on his recovery.

Reality TV Star Criticizes Fans For Spinning False Narratives About Her Family

Last year, The Blast reported that the fifth member of the Duggar clan clapped back at trolls for creating a false narrative about her siblings and their relationship. The drama started after many assumed that Jessa did not attend her sister Jill’s baby shower.

In a post shared by the siblings’ cousin, Amy Duggar, the mother of four appeared absent from the event. However, the Tontitown native commented that she enjoyed the party, leading one critic to note that Amy’s post said otherwise.

This person’s message is definitely not the first message Jessa has received regarding the situation as she lashed out at people sticking their noses in her family’s business. “These rumors make me angry, and I’m here to stop them. The narrative of comments like these that are presented is false.”

The 30-year-old said just because his other siblings didn’t show up for Jill’s baby shower, it didn’t mean there was a rift in the family. Instead, the main problem is the difference in the schedule of 19 adult children, who have their own families.
