The 46-year-old, who portrays Hyland’s uncle Mitchell Pritchett on “Modern Family,” brought the fun-loving part of his role to life at the actress’ wedding. She was the officiant for her 31-year-old co-star and her 38-year-old husband at their wedding. Ferguson revealed this during a special screening of her upcoming Netflix project, “Ivy + Bean,” on Monday.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson Had To Study Ty Burrell For His Officiating Duties

Playing the role of a family member for 11 years is no small feat, as the characters of “Modern Family” have proven. TV families often show how involved they are with each other, and they did so again when Hyland – who played Hailey Dunphy on the show – got married.
As it turns out, Ferguson served as the officiant at the intimate event even though he wasn’t originally scheduled to officiate. Ty Burrell, TV Hyland’s father, was supposed to officiate the affair. Telling ET’s Lauren Zima what happened, Ferguson said:
“I don’t know if people know this, but Ty Burrell was supposed to, and there was a family emergency. So, I got a phone call 12 days before the wedding, and that’s why Ty wasn’t there, he had something going on.”

Although a handful of “Modern Family” stars attended the couple’s wedding in Santa Barbara — including Nolan Gould and Sofia Vergara, the Primetime Emmy Award nominee insisted that not everyone could attend. The father of one explained that although not everyone was present, they all got an invitation.
Ferguson also emphasized that he was nervous about officiating the ceremony because “it will be a wedding, and it will be in Vogue magazine, and there will also be paparazzi pictures of me from a helicopter, officiating, without pressure.” Fortunately, Ferguson could lean on Burrell for some pointers for his first time as a striker.

The TV in-laws had no problem cross-referencing notes and coming up with what worked best for Hyland’s big day. As for the “Take Me Out” cast, it was “an honor” to do it, and he was more than happy to be by Burrell’s side. Ferguson needn’t have worried as he destroyed his role in front of nearly 200 guests in attendance on August 20.
Hyland and Adams were originally scheduled to marry on August 8, 2020, but were unable to due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus. According to The Blast, the actress hinted that something big was about to happen when she posted two black-and-white photos of herself and her husband on Instagram.

The image shows the couple on a lonely dirt road holding hands and then laughing hysterically. While Hyland wore a short fringe dress, her lover wore a white shirt, suit and trousers. His necktie was placed haphazardly on his shoulders. In the caption, the Manhattan-born star wrote:
“8.8.20 2 years will be the bliss of marriage. I Love You to Pluto and Back. Let’s make it official already”
Bologna Plays A Part In Sarah & Adams’ Love Story

Years after Adam went into “The Bachelorette” alum’s DMs, the couple has revealed the food that brought them together. The Blast reported in July that Hyland made the revelation when he appeared on an episode of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
As a supportive lover, Adams made two posts about his wife-to-be’s appearance on the hit show. While the former urges fans to make sure they watch the program, the latter is a snippet of Fallon’s conversation with the screen goddess. In the video, the “Blind Date” actress explains her and her then-fiancé’s relationship with bologna. To kick things off, Fallon showed a screenshot of a 2017 chat between Hyland and Adams while they were still dating.

Apparently, Adams had just discovered that his then-girlfriend loved bologna as much as he did, and that discovery led him to make a big promise to marry her. Of course, the “Private Parts” actor doesn’t believe her, so she tells him she’s “full of bologna” and takes a screenshot of the conversation.
Hyland tells Fallon that he’s taking the screenshots as proof — just in case he doesn’t take his word for it. The clip ends with the TV host surprising her with a basket of bologna as a congratulatory gift for possibly walking down the aisle soon.
