Divorce of John & Janet Elway
The couple married in 1984 and divorced after 19 years of marriage in 2002. The couple did their best, however, to raise the children and teach them that the divorce was not their fault. Janet states that children are their priority.
“I believe John and I did a very good job of emphasizing how much they were loved and that it wasn’t their fault.” It comes from not having a choice – it has to happen, and we will do everything we can for them. According to John and I, the most important thing is to help these kids get through it as easily as possible.”
Both fathers and mothers love their children equally, and even if they are separated, they will continue to love them equally.
Janet was honored to induct her father, John Elway, into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as the eldest daughter. He recalled many occasions when his family spent time together and revealed childhood secrets. She was the first daughter in Canton, Ohio, to introduce her father as a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee.
It was a proud moment for John Elway and his family. The fact that he received the award from his daughter added to its significance for the 60-year-old.
