Jessica Simpson has only positive things to say about her husband, Eric Johnson, who she has been married to for nearly a decade.
Simpson and Johnson tied the knot in July 2014 in Montecito, California, after being engaged for more than three years. They also share three children— Maxwell Drew, 11, Ace Knute, 10, and Birdie Mae, 4.
The duo seems to be a match made in heaven, according to the “Employee of the Month” actress, who recently gave a glimpse of their happy relationship, showing how supportive her husband has been since day one.

Simpson opened up about her marriage at PetSafe’s Unleashed event, celebrating International Dog Day, where she touched on how fathers support their children. The Texas native, who celebrated her ninth wedding anniversary with Johnson last month, said of their wedding, “It’s crazy. It’s pretty crazy. I feel like Eric and I have been together longer.”

She continued, “We’ve been together for a long time, but it feels like 20 [years]. My life before him, I had a blast. But when I met Eric, I felt it was more nurtured. Everything is more supported. It all felt so easy.”
Simpson admits that while she doesn’t find it hard to love anyone, she believes people find it hard to love her.
“I always thought that I was hard to love, that I was too much for people, or that my schedule was too demanding. I can’t be a roadie all the time. I can’t be a soccer wife. It’s hard,” he shared.
However, with the former NFL star, the 43-year-old singer feels “safe” because he embraces his career and understands it through and through more than anyone else. “I knew as soon as we met that I could see my future in his eyes,” she revealed to People. “And with a lot of people, I look forward to the future in their eyes, but with Eric, I see it.”
At the same event, Simpson talked about what she and her husband do to keep their romance alive despite having three young children. He revealed, “It was hard, but he would leave me little notes because he would wake up earlier than me. He would leave me little letters,” adding, “There’s a lot of things that make me like, ‘I can’t wait to get it.’ I think you have to have those little things as a couple that are just between the two of you.”
The country pop star went on to mention that the lovebirds now feel like their kids are all grown up, leaving them often worried that the youngsters will follow their “silly times”. Simpson’s relationship with the former athlete dates back to 2010 when a source close to them confirmed that they had been dating since May.

Johnson was still legally married to her ex, Keri, at the time but had been legally separated since October 2009, and they were in the midst of their divorce, while Simpson and her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, had been divorced since 2005.
In October 2010, the 43-year-old sportsman and his ex-wife finalized their divorce, prompting him to propose to the “A Public Affair” musician the following month. Shortly before their engagement, Simpson confirmed she was pregnant with their first child, Maxwell, who they welcomed in May 2012.
The following year, their second child, Ace, was born, and in 2014, they married in style at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
