In an interview with People magazineJessie talked about her children’s involvement in preparing a nursery for their new sibling.
The musician expressed his gratitude for their enthusiasm, stating, “They have helped a lot. What I love about this is that they are really aware of what’s going on. Before, when Forrest was born, they were babies themselves, so they knew what was going on, but not to this extent.”
He added: “I mean, Vivi will be 10 when this baby is here, and if we all remember being 10, you know what happens. And he’s really aware and really excited, and they’ve all been helping me in nursery finalize things.”
He also shared a sweet anecdote about his son, with Forrest writing the baby love letters and Eric acting as his “protector.”
“He would try to hold my hand when we went up and down the stairs or put his hand behind my back and be worried, or he wouldn’t let me carry anything heavy because he was just paranoid,” she said. “He was like, ‘I got it, Mom. I’ll take this.’ “

Jessie first announced her pregnancy in August 2023, taking to Instagram to share the news with her fans with a touching video featuring her growing baby bump set to Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby.”
A few days later, during an Instagram Story Q&A, the “Boys in the Summer” singer revealed that the news initially came as a surprise to her husband.
“[Eric] don’t believe me, actually. He thinks I’m kidding him … but I won’t joke about things like this. He really thought [my then-pregnant] Sydney peed on a stick, and we were, like, playing with it,” he said.
After reassuring him of the reality of the situation, Jesse shared that Eric quickly accepted the news with excitement.
“I was like, ‘I’m not kidding. It’s real,'” he recounted. “It was a shock for a while there, but once he knew it was real, I mean, you know it. … We love kids, so we like Yes!'”
Then in November, Jessie confirmed on Today that she’s expecting “another boy,” when host Jenna Bush Hager asked about an Instagram post that many fans thought was a hint.
