The former Little Mix member has completely overhauled her image, sound and style when it comes to her solo music career.
Jesy Nelson Makes a Big Musical Comeback!
MEGA
Half the world and his fans have heard his new song, “Bad Thing,” which came out on April 14.
Everyone in the US waited patiently until midnight.
From the teaser released by Jesy, “Bad Thing” is a completely different sound than we’ve heard before. I will say, “Bad Things” gives me Billie Eilish’s “No Time To Die” vibes.
He’s been teasing his new song for weeks, and deleted everything from his Instagram account to do so.
Welcome To The New Era Of Jesy Muzik With “Bad Things”
Well, many reviews are received and… all positive unlike “Boyz.”
“GROWTH FROM BOYZ?????? HELLO,” wrote one person on Instagram.
“EAT AND DON’T LEAVE THE CREAM,” echoed another.
This rave review reads, “Not even going to lie, waited until midnight for this and it did NOT disappoint. Love love love.”
“I INVITE YOU TO LISTEN!! THIS IS VOCALIST JESY NELSON. THIS WOMAN DESERVES ALL THE RECOGNITION SHE WILL GET! HIS VOICE. THIS IS THE VOCAL WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. THIS IS JESY’S SOLO. THIS IS THE NUMBER 1 ENERGY!!! CONGRATULATIONS JESY, YOU ARE DOING THE MOST EXCITING THING. Jeez. ???,” this fan is interested in Jesy.
On Twitter, the response was just as big, if not bigger.
“Jesy Nelson did the damn thing. She’s a vocal queen and I’m so glad the world will hear VOCALS,” tweeted one fan.
“Jesy Nelson’s growth era!?! In the words of Ru Paul ‘love that kind of thing,’ another sentiment is read.
“Bad Thing” moves a fan into emotion. They tweeted, “We’ve literally never heard Jesy sing like this, it blew me away.”
“Bad Things” Far From “Boyz”
As previously mentioned, this song marks his “re-debut” since releasing his first solo EP, “Boyz.”
Explosion previously reported backlash to the song, music video and accusations of “Blackfishing.”
He released the song in October 2021 and it immediately received great and scathing reviews.
“Blackfishing” is a term commonly used to describe someone on social media who pretends to be black by changing their appearance using makeup, editing or surgery.
After Jesy’s song was dropped, her former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock allegedly accused her of black-fishing in the music video via a supposed DM with an influencer.

After this happens, things go very south.
Jesy took to Instagram Live with Nicki Minaj to issue an apology.
During IG Live she said, “I personally want to say that it was never my intention to offend people of color with these videos and songs of mine because like I said, growing up as a young girl, this is the music I listened to. to . This is the video I watched and thought was the best.”
He insisted that the darker skin tone and hairstyle he wore in the video had nothing to do with him trying to integrate himself into black culture, it was just what he knew.
