A Jewish student set fire to their dorm room at the University of Philadelphia.
The fire at a Drexel University dormitory started around 11 p.m. Tuesday in Race Hall, according to campus police.
The police found that the decoration on the student’s door was “deliberately” set on fire. The fire was “quickly extinguished” by the Philadelphia Fire Department.
The school is investigating whether bias or discrimination was involved, according to a letter from University President John Fry.
“Unfortunately, we have been informed of a sad situation including destruction in one of our residence halls,” he wrote. “Thankfully, no one was injured. We are investigating to determine whether bias, discrimination or hate, which we do not tolerate at Drexel, was the motivation behind this incident. The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and we will update the community once it is complete.”
No one was injured.
The fire comes a week after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, killing more than 1,300 people, including infants and children.
At least 29 Americans have died.
The death toll in Gaza has risen to more than 2,200, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
