Following the news of their separation, the musician’s wife has opened a social site to stop following him on Instagram. The move comes alongside a cryptic statement issued by a registered nurse hinting at an imminent divorce.
On Monday, the 27-year-old made a cryptic post on his Instagram Story, writing, “The silence is strong enough for me,” on an all-black screen. The plot thickens when, the next day, PEOPLE discovered that she had unfollowed Allen on Instagram, while he still followed her account.

The message comes days after the couple announced their split and revealed they are expecting their third child together. The former couple, who exchanged vows in May 2020, are the proud parents of two daughters, Zara James and Naomi Bettie. However, from a previous relationship, Allen is also a father to his son Aadyn.
A source close to them revealed to TMZ that they have been having a hard time lately, and after much consideration, they have agreed to part ways. The 37-year-old took to Instagram to tell his fans that he and Gale have decided to split.
In her heartfelt message, the singer wrote, “After much thought and reflection over the past few months, Lex & I have decided to part ways. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child later this year.”
She explained that despite their split, the well-being of their children remains their top priority. He also emphasized that they are fully committed to raising their children with love and respect. In closing, the “Mercury Lane” singer stated, “In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy at this time.”
Regarding her children, the artist opened up about her growing family and the joys of parenthood in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight at last year’s ACM Awards.
He shared that he and his wife often feel “beaten” by their children and admitted, “Going from two to three is a big jump. It’s cool; we love them and are thankful for our kids.”

Allen also stated that she was done having more children but later clarified her statement on a PEOPLE magazine podcast, saying that “It’s true [Alexis’] idea.” She admits the fun part of having a baby belongs to men but the process is more challenging for women. He then said:

Earlier, the singer revealed their pregnancy with a series of stunning Instagram photos in June 2021. The couple shared their excitement with fans by showing off Gale’s baby bump in the photos.
In one of the photos, the expectant mother poses with her stepson while her eldest daughter, Naomi, takes a pregnancy test. During an appearance on “The Sam Alex Show” that same month, Allen shared that he and his girlfriend were expecting their second daughter. He also revealed that the couple had struggled to agree on a name for their daughter.
He jokingly stated, “I wanted to name her Arya Stark Allen because I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan, but Lex wouldn’t let that happen!” However, by September, his wife announced on her page that they had finally decided on a name for their unborn baby – Zara.
