Jimmy Fallon’s followers are mourning the loss of the comedian this morning but there’s one problem, he’s not dead!

The late-night show host jumped online earlier today to plead with new Twitter owner Elon Musk for his help in fixing the “RIPJimmyFallon” hashtag. “Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon,” she asked the mogul who was quick to reply with a cheeky “Fix what?”

While the comedian is hot on the trail trying to figure out who started the crazy trend that made fans believe he was dead, fans have been congratulating him on his page and freely using the hashtag.

“#RIPJimmyFallon. Taken too soon ?,” wrote one fan who didn’t realize it was a joke. Other fans remembered the late comedian with their favorite clip of him, in which he ruffled Donald Trump’s hair during an appearance on his late show.

Another devotee was “devastated” as he passed and said, “You will be missed.” Someone followed up the tweet with “An unforgettable man who will never be forgotten.”

Unfortunately for them, they will be deleting the tweet soon especially after seeing how hard it is for people to play fake death announcements online.

Jimmy Fallon’s Departure Is A Joke

Since the “Saturday Night Live” alum is still alive and kicking, fans chose to crack jokes about the fake passing and make the comedian’s “death” the “best joke ever.”

“Jimmy tweeted this directly from his grave, WTF!! The world has seen everything now. #RIPJimmyFallon ?,” one fan joked and retweeted Fallon asking for help. “Like he’s still here sometimes,” another follower quipped.

Fellow comedian, writer, and friend Elijah Schaffer used the humorous hashtag, “We miss you man! You are always one of the best.”

A clever follower broke the case of his death which had previously shown a performance from Paramore a few days earlier that took him to his grave. “His performance was so good that it moved him a few days later.”

Many followers of the trend loved the joke about how Fallon would show up to work on The Tonight Show, which featured a man riding in a coffin who was presumed dead but reached his destination and popped out.

Followers Take Time To Slam Elon Musk

While Fallon was busy coming to terms with his departure, his comments section on Twitter served to hate the bluebird app. “Jimmy, to clarify, you asked Elon to remove the hashtag right? You don’t ask him to bring you back from the dead, that’s impossible. Twitter can’t even make an edit button..”

“It became a trend because Twitter allows fake news now. There are no adults in the boardroom or moderators. Elon Musk fired them all. This is what Twitter looks like when something happens and you can really ruin corporate stocks with fake tweets,” another follower insisted.

One person posted a photo of Musk blowing a bubble gum and simply wrote, “Ha! No, he’s busy!”

“This is just another fake account, we all know you’re dead,” joked a Fallon fan. While another follower pointed out that the blue check of the subscription backfired quickly. “It cannot be a fake account. It has a blue check, indicating a blue bush.”

So just to clarify, Fallon is not dead, thankfully, but we won’t believe it until we see it live on the “Tonight Show”. And, social media users are still angry with Elon Musk and what he is doing on the platform.
