Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t seem to care about Donald Trump’s insults!
Shortly after Trump expressed his displeasure with the Academy Awards committee’s selection of Kimmel as host for this year’s ceremony, the television host issued a rebuttal on stage.
According to Kimmel, the former president should be more concerned about his many legal problems than his ability as a lawyer.
Jimmy Kimmel Appears to Remind Donald Trump About His Priorities

While the Oscars are a night of glitz, glamor and triumph for contestants, nominees and millions watching at home, Kimmel made sure there was time for a jab aimed at Trump.
During the second half of the broadcast, the comedian informed the crowd that he had been given an “extra minute,” and he planned to use it to share something he was “very proud of.”
The “something”, it turns out, was Trump’s shady Social Truth post, which he read to the audience from his phone.
“Was there ever a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars? Her opening is like someone who isn’t very good trying too hard to be something they’re not, and never will be,” the post began.
Speaking to Oscar leadership, Trump wrote, “Get rid of Kimmel and maybe replace him with another ABC talent, but cheap, George Slopanopoulos.” According to Trump, Slopanopoulos “will make everyone on stage look bigger, stronger and more glamorous.”
The 56-year-old said, “blah blah blah,” and then recited Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Once he finished reading the post, he quipped:
“See if you can guess which former president just posted this on Truth Social? Anyone? Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching. I was surprised. Isn’t it past your jail time? He’s focused on the important things, for sure.”
Oscar Viewers Tired Of Kimmel’s Jokes

Despite the joke that had the audience laughing, it seems Trump wasn’t the only one unhappy with Kimmel hosting the Oscars. As The Blast reports, many viewers used X, formerly known as Twitter, to drag the four-time Oscar host after his opening speech.
In case you missed it, the producer’s opener focused on Robert Downey Jr.’s appearance. in “Madame Web.” Kimmel claimed that if the film was re-shot today, he believes his counterpart – the dog who was on stage with him during the monologue – would outshine the legendary actor.
“Jimmy Kimmel, please get off the stage,” one person wrote in response to Kimmel’s line, while another posted, “Jimmy Kimmel comedy is like waiting in line at a government agency.” Even author of “Your Next Five Moves” Patrick Bet-David write:
“Dirtbag jokes are worthy that aren’t even funny. Jimmy Kimmel did this the night Downey won his first Academy? It’s people like @jimmykimmellah who turn people off from watching this garbage. It’s almost as if Kimmel is jealous of how much RDJ is loved.”
Kimmel’s Long-Term Plan May Be Coming To An End
Aside from finding new jokes, Kimmel may also need to find a new job.
During an interview last month, the Primetime Emmy Awards host hinted at the possibility of not returning to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after the current season. “[I]think this is my last contract,” he said before adding:
“I hate to say it because everyone is laughing at me now – every time I think that, and then it turns out not to be. I still have a little more than two years left in my contract, and that seems pretty good. That seems to be enough.”
Shockingly, the plan to leave the decades-long late-night show came while preparing for his Oscar performance. In his words:
“At that moment, I thought, ‘I can’t wait until my contract is up.’ But then, I take the summer off or I go on strike, and you start saying, ‘Yeah, I miss the fun stuff.’”
How ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Become a Hit
Kimmel became a late-night host in the early 2000s after ABC saw his success on other television shows. However, his show suffered the opposite when it aired in 2003 and did not receive great reviews.
Things eventually began to pick up as the years went on, as he hosted thousands of episodes, began attracting A-list celebrities and beat other late-night shows in the ratings.
Due to its success, ABC continued to extend its contract, and by 2012, the network had moved the show to an earlier time slot to compete with another popular show on NBC.
One of the highlights of the show happened in 2013 when Kimmel took a swipe at Kanye West, and the latter got angry and tweeted about it. After the episode, Kimmel spoke with the “Jesus Walks” rapper on the phone, and he told Kimmel he needed to apologize.
After West honored Kimmel’s invitation to join him live, the two later aired their differences on the show.
