Jasjit Singh Gill, better known as Jimmy Sheirgill, is an Indian film actor and producer who mainly works in the Hindi and Punjabi film industry. He rose to fame after playing the role of ‘Karan Chaudhry’ in the Bollywood film, “Mohabbatein.”

Jimmy Sheirgill was born on Thursday, 3 December 1970 (age 49 years; as in 2019) in Deokahia village, Sardarnagar, Gorakhpur District, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Jimmy came from a family of aristocratic Punjabi landowners. Shergill did his schooling from St. Paul in Lucknow, Punjab Public School in Nabha and Yadavindra Public School in Patiala. While at school, Jimmy wanted to join the Armed Forces. He attended Bikram College, Punjabi University to pursue B.Com. After that, Jimmy enrolled himself in Post Graduate Government College – 11, Chandigarh, Panjab University to complete his graduation. When Sheirgill was in college, her cousin Suminder convinced her to try her luck in films. After completing his studies, Jimmy moved to Mumbai to become an actor. He attended Roshan Taneja’s acting class in Mumbai to learn acting. In 1994, when Gulzar was directing “Maachis,” Jimmy went to him to ask for an opportunity to help him. At that time, Gulzar offered her a small role in the film.

Jimmy Sheirgill made his acting debut in 1996 with the political thriller, “Maachis.” He played the role of ‘Jaimal’ in the film. He came into limelight after playing the character of ‘Karan Choudhry’ in the movie, “Mohabbatein.”
