Just call him Jo-slip Biden.
President Biden, 80, slipped and nearly fell down a 14-step flight of stairs while exiting Air Force One on Tuesday — just hours after it was revealed that the commander-in-chief was working with a physical therapist and using a shorter flight of stairs to avoid further trips.
The near miss happened moments after Biden landed at Metro Detroit Airport, where he was greeted by United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain, Michigan Lieutenant Governor Garland Gilchrist and US Representatives Debbie Dingell, Rashida Tlaib and Shri Thanedar, all Michigan Democrats, the clip shared by radio reporter Alex McLennon show.
Despite those moments, Biden regained his footing and appeared unfazed by the mistake.
Footage of the incident, however, quickly became a firestorm on social media – which had already been clouded by earlier reports that Biden had been doing balancing exercises to avoid more public spills as his team worried about polls showing that three-quarters of Americans thought he was taking too long. for the second term.
In addition to meeting with physical therapist Drew Contreras, the veteran politician has been spotted opting for sneakers over slick dress shoes, and using shorter stairs to help him reach the flight deck of Air Force One.

Needless to say, critics were not impressed with Tuesday’s stumble.
“This is a terrible look for the President of the United States,” Mike Davis, former chief counsel for the nomination of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), tweet as video of Detroit’s slip went viral on social media.
“Install a chairlift for the chief of chiefs,” another wry commenter scoffed.

Some viewers, however, jumped to Biden’s defense.
“Have you ever tripped a little while going down the stairs in your life?” liberal influence Brian Krassenstein scoffed.
“Does this mean you are bad at your job or need to be fired?” he continued, before adding that “FDR was literally in a wheelchair throughout his presidency.
“I don’t understand the GOP fixation with Biden tripping. He’s old, he’ll do it once in a while,” another observer shrugged.
Biden’s balance issues are likely related to arthritis in his spine and legs, Axios reported Tuesday.
His condition has been monitored in recent months following a number of worrying incidents – including when he tripped and fell at the Air Force Academy in June.
Air Force One is where Biden frequently slips up: He was thwarted by the boarding ladder three times in March 2021 alone.
“[The reports are] an unfortunate pattern of the media trying to sensationalize something that has long been public knowledge,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said of the public’s continued interest in retaining Biden — literally.
“This is not new,” he stressed, “it was disclosed proactively and transparently.”
After canceling his trip, Biden spent 12 minutes with striking auto workers before re-boarding Air Force One about an hour later without any signs of trouble.
