President Joe Biden is now facing criticism after mistakenly calling Donald Trump the “sitting president” during a speech in South Carolina on the economy.
Biden, 81, looked downcast as he made the shocking statement. He also called Trump a “loser”, highlighting how he refused to visit cemeteries to pay respects to fallen US soldiers.
This comes after Trump was ordered to pay columnist E. Jean Carroll $83 million in a defamation lawsuit.

During an economic speech in South Carolina, Biden made a big mistake when he referred to his predecessor, Trump, as “the sitting president.”
He said, “American consumers face real confidence in the economy we are building. Let me tell you who else noticed that- Donald Trump.”
Biden then seemed to stumble over his words during his speech, asking, “Did you see what he said recently.. he wants, he wants to see the economy go down this year? The sitting president.”

Without correcting himself, Biden continued his speech by calling Trump a “loser” for referring to fallen US soldiers as “sick and losers” after refusing to visit a cemetery in France.
The President stated, “And referred to the superheroes, and I quote, as ‘suckers and losers.’ He actually said that! How dare he say that. The only defeat I see is Donald Trump.”
Biden also claimed that his political enemies know that the US economy is “good and strong and getting stronger.” He added, “[Trump] knew that while it was good for America, it was bad for him politically.”

On X (formerly known as Twitter), netizens criticized the president for making such a mistake, while others claimed that Biden knew who the real president was, referring to the belief of many Republicans that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
