On Thursday, Dan Crenshaw took to Twitter to criticize the US Government and Coast Guard for their response to the missing Titan submarine. The Texas congressman tweeted that he had received reports that the government was suspending search and rescue efforts for the missing marine vehicle.

Crenshaw continued, “I heard that too, the opposite of [United States Coast Guard] reports, the location of the submarine is not actually a mystery and a small search area is being refined. I want to know: Have all the barriers to using the best search teams and equipment been removed? What is the current status of the search & recovery mission? How soon can we bring this person home safely?”
The congressman previously claimed on Twitter that the Coast Guard has “a highly capable rescue submarine called the Magellan.” He said that Magellan was able to find and rescue the submarine, which was on its way to visit the wreck of the Titanic.

After the US Coast Guard confirmed that the submarine’s five passengers were presumed dead, Exotic took to Twitter to slam Crenshaw.
He tweeted, “Stop looking for someone to blame. They build it, get into it and take that risk, launch it and if it explodes nobody can do anything. Hats off to [United States Coast Guard] and everyone who seeks it. Maybe God doesn’t want us at the bottom of the ocean to struggle with something.”
The US Coast Guard and OceanGate released a report on the search for the submarine. They revealed that after a long and extensive search of the area where the submarine was last recorded active, the Titan Submersible exploded shortly after it lost contact with the surface on Sunday afternoon. The US Navy also said they detected sounds, possibly explosives, after contact was lost.

Despite the reports from the Coast Guard and OceanGate, Crenshaw insists there is another agenda at stake. He claimed to have received reports that there were Coast Guard officers delaying and blocking Magellan’s settlement.
The tweet is in part read, “If true, this is very worrying. We should do everything to assist in this rescue effort and I have sent a formal request for Magellan to be deployed as soon as possible.”
Crenshaw made additional tweets on the topic, claiming that the government had failed passengers “massively.” He added, “What the Coast Guard needs to do is LET MAGELLAN SAVE THESE PEOPLE and help them get their equipment there. Mr. President, you can solve this problem now and save lives. Please do.”
