Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton argued Monday that the Iranian regime has “not felt any pain at all” since last October’s attack on Israel by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists and suggested that Republicans “make it a campaign issue” against President Biden.
“It’s very sad for me [Biden] will never admit that Iran is behind all this violence in the Middle East,” Bolton said during an interview with “Cats and Cosby Show” hosts John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby.
The former UN ambassador also criticized the 81-year-old president’s response to 151 attacks on US troops in the Middle East by Iran-backed groups since Israel’s declaration of war on Hamas, saying that American troops will continue to be targeted by the Islamic Republic until it feels “sick .”
“Iran has not felt any pain since October 7,” Bolton said. “If only [Biden] the administration can’t see what’s going on and doesn’t understand that to restore any kind of deterrence, let alone a proper response to the risk posed by these terrorist surrogates, if we can’t make it a campaign issue this year, I don’t know what that we can.”

“The only reason we haven’t had a major casualty incident – I mean something very serious involving American casualties in Iraq – is luck,” he added. “That is not a strategy. It did not tell Iran that it would pay a heavy price if they continued their activities. When will they stop if they don’t feel sick?”
The US has about 2,500 troops stationed in Iraq and 900 in Syria tasked with fighting the Islamic State terrorist group.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a loose coalition of Iran-backed militia groups, claimed responsibility for Saturday’s barrage of rocket attacks on the Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq that wounded at least two US service members.

The US has carried out several counterstrikes against targets in Iraq and Syria in response to the surge in attacks on US forces, but none against targets on Iranian soil.
