John Cusack fires back after being branded ‘Antisemite of the Week’ over Israel stance: ‘List full of lies’

Actor John Cusack hit back after non-profit watchdog group StopAntisemitism branded him “Antisemite of the Week” in an X broadcast on Sunday.

“Wow – a list full of lies,” the “Say Anything” star responded to the thread.

The StopAntisemitism post contained a picture of Cusack accompanied by the label “Antisemite of the Week”.

In the caption, the group accused him of denying the mass rape that took place on October 7, labeling Hamas a “charity organization” and claiming the Israeli government funded Hamas.

The post then tagged Cusack’s talent agency asking why they were “testing this fanatic,” and concluded with links to archives and posts from the actress.

In a separate response, Cusack accused the organization, along with the International Legal Forum, of “weaponizing racism against peace activists.”

“Degrading people – I want to know if the people who follow them know – and if they do do they condone this despicable behaviour?” he continued.

Responding to other X users who defended her as not antisemitic, Cusack labeled her critics’ accusations as “sneaky to distract”.

He has also retweeted posts that espouse pro-Palestinian views but not pro-Hamas.

A representative for Cusack and the APA agency did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In a recent X post, the actor also lashed out at anyone who doesn’t call for a ceasefire in Gaza, accusing them of having “no soul.”

“My god – my god – if you don’t call a truce – You have no soul – We can’t stop until this stops – that’s the most shameful thing I can imagine – staying silent in the face of this,” he wrote last Thursday, responding to a video from the account The reported pro-Palestinians included footage of a Palestinian girl bleeding.

The video from the original broadcast has since been removed, but the caption, which read, “Is this the kind of world you want your children to experience when they grow up? If your answer is no, then demand #CeasefireNOW for the sake of all humanity #PeaceforAll” forever.

Cusack has been outspoken about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas that began last October when Hamas terrorists launched unprecedented attacks on Israeli settlements, killing 1,200 and taking hundreds hostage.

Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has since drawn harsh criticism from critics of the Jewish state.

“Words fail – the barbarity of the western response is unparalleled In depravity / imagine Oct 7 happening for 115 days?” Cusack wrote in a separate post on Thursday.
