Sen. John Fetterman met his costume match this week on Capitol Hill — intrepid Post reporter Jon Levine, whom the Pennsylvania Democrat praised for using his “style” on the cover of the Big Apple’s now-famous favorite paper.
“I love it. I saw the article and honestly, I laughed out loud when I saw it. That’s the truth,” Fetterman told Levine, who was wearing the same “throwback” hoodie and shorts he wore on the pages of “Haute Mess” 1 for Thursday’s mano a slobbo meeting on Capitol Hill.
The Post presents the Keystone State’s most famous copy of what is now a collector’s item, in which Levine — inspired by a one-time change to the Senate dress code to accommodate the lawmaker’s notoriously rough wardrobe — tries to dine at NYC’s most exclusive restaurant dress like him.

The next time he’s in Gotham, Fetterman vows to test out his hoodie at Gotham’s best restaurant.
“I give an open invitation. We plan to be in New York in a few weeks, I will go with you and try to test your theory. I will do. It’s funny. You must be able to laugh at yourself.”
The Senate later defeated a hasty retreat, and Fetterman insisted he was more buttoned up — or at least wearing a shirt with buttons — on the floor of the August institution.

Fetterman said he comes from a family of devoted Post readers, especially his father Karl — who is still 73 and lives in Pennsylvania.
